The first hint of a smile I had ever seen on his face appeared, but it went as quickly as it came.

"Y'know, you're an idiot," he said. "I thought everyone knew already."

"Knew what?" I asked, confused. Did he have a girlfriend? What was her name? I wanted to know everything now.

"I'm not into girls," he said flatly, immediately turning away from me as silence filled the room. He continued unpacking his stuff as it hit me.

I sat still as shock filled me. He was gay like me?

"Since you asked me, now I get to ask you," he said. "Who's your girlfriend?"

"Uh..." I started. I licked my lips, swallowed, then said, "I'm not into girls either."

"So you're gay," he said with no emotion.

"Uh, yeah. Sure."

"Is that black-haired kid your boyfriend then?"

"Oh, Sero? No, we're just friends," I said, scratching the back of my neck.

Silence filled the room again. I stared at his back as he took his clothes out of his bag and laid them on his bed. He was the last person I expected to be gay. It seems like he would get girls pretty easily.

But, for people who are gay like me, we don't wanna attract the opposite gender.

A loud buzz on my phone made me leap up and snatch it. I immediately answered the FaceTime call that was coming in and smiled at the camera.

"Eiji! Are you at camp yet?"

I sat down on my bed and nodded. "Yeah, we got here about 15 minutes ago. Why are you calling? Did something happen?"

Bakugo was just staring at me from across the room, holding a half folded piece of clothing in his hands.

"Oh, I just wanted to say that you forgot your lunch," she said flatly, holding up a brown bag next to her short black hair. "I kept trying to call you but you didn't answer."

I swore under my breath and said, "That's ok, ma. Sorry I didn't answer, my phone was dead."

"It's okay, sweetie! Will you be okay without it?"

"Ma, I'm fine," I said, smiling. "I'm almost an adult; I think I can go without a meal just this once."

"While I'm here, can I see your cabin?" She asked excitedly, like a little child.

"Uh, sure...?" I said, looking up to get approval from Bakugo.

He just shrugged and I flipped the camera around so she could see. When the camera panned past Bakugo, she gasped and said, "Oh, it's that blond boy!"

His head snapped towards the camera and he gave me an evil glare.

"Eiji, do you still wake up early every morning to see-"

I quickly hung up on her, my face burning. I hung my head a little and didn't look at Bakugo as I pretended to go through my apps.

"How the f*** does she recognize me?" He growled. "Is she some crazy hag that stalks her son's classmates?"

"Don't call my ma a hag," I snapped angrily, looking up at him. "And I don't know how she knows you."

That last part was a lie. She knew all about my crush on the unnamed blond that ran by our house at exactly 6:33 each morning.

"If I find out your f****** lying you are so dead," he threatened, before storming out the door and leaving his half folded shirt on the bed.
