(A/N: For these next chapters, I got the idea from Once Upon A Time. If you've seen OUAT then you'll remember what episode this is from)
Jalena's POV:
*a couple weeks later* It's been 2 weeks since I've joined team Flash and I've gotten better at control my power. I've gotten close to everyone especially Julian. Anyways right I'm in the speed lab fighting Barry and of course I'm winning. "Who taught you how to fight? Cisco?" I asked. "You do know I'm right here right?" Cisco asked. I grab Barry's arm and flips him onto his back and he groans. "You maybe faster but I'm stronger." I said.
I offer my hand to Barry so he takes it and I help him up. "Where'd you learn how to fight like that?" Barry asked. "Well when you're the only girl growing up in a house with mostly guys you learn a thing or two about self defense." I said. "And how to kick your brothers' ass." A familiar voice said. I turn around and sees my older brothers Kace and Wyatt. "Hey sis." Wyatt said. I smile and walks over and hugs them both.
"Hey. What are you guys doing here?" I asked as I pull away from the hug. "Well it's our day off so we decided to come see you. We checked your office at S.T.S.T. but you weren't there." Kace said. "So I called Mia and she said that you'd be here." Wyatt said. "Excuse me? I really hate to break up this little reunion but who are these guys and why do they look capable of shoving me into a small drawer?" Cisco asked.
"Oh right sorry. Barry and Cisco these are my older brothers Kace and Wyatt." I said. "Hey." Kace and Wyatt said to Barry and Cisco. "Hey. Cisco Ramon." Cisco said. "And I'm Barry Allen." Barry said. "Ok well it's great to see you guys but I'm a little busy right now so how about later we meet at Jitters?" I asked. "Yeah sure." Kace said. "Sounds great." Wyatt said. "Ok I'll see you guys later." I said. "See ya." Kace said.
They leave and suddenly Julian walks in. "Hey Jalena we need to talk. In private." He said. "Ok." I said and follows him to Cisco's lab. He looks at me. "What's up?" I asked. "Remember the other day after I was watching Marcus for you, I told you that he doesn't seem to like me?" Julian asked. "Yeah and I told you to give him some time to warm up to you." I said. "Yeah well today I took him out for ice cream and he just ignored me the whole time." He said.
"Julian you're not gonna get Marcus to like you by giving him stuff. You have to be willing to do things he likes and then maybe he'll do things you like." I said. "Well I can't really do that since he won't tell me what he likes." He said.
Julian's POV:
"Just ask him." Jalena said. "Or you could just tell me what he likes." I said. "Julian." She said. "Please Jalena. Just tell me." I said. She sighs. "Fine. He really likes animals. Mostly horses. Good luck." She said and walks back to the speed lab. Horses. I think I know what to do. *later that day at the stables* "Ok so since ice cream was a bust I was thinking we try something you like." I said to Marcus as we get out of the car.
"Mr. Albert, I don't mean to be rude but I think you're trying to hard." Marcus said. "Just trust me." I said and opens the door. We walk in and Marcus gasps. "Wow! There are so many horses!" Marcus said and runs over to a white horse petting it. I smile and walks over to him. "You like her?" I asked. "Yeah I do." He said. "Good because she's yours." I said. "Really?!" He asked as his eyes widen. "Yeah. I talked to your mom and she thought it was a good idea." I said.
"Awesome! So can I ride her?" He asked. "No not yet. First you have to get her to trust you before you ride." I said. "And how do I do that?" He asked. "You take care of her. That means you feed, clean, and pick up after her." I said. "That sounds like parenting." He said. "Trust me it works." I said. "Well how do I know when she's ready for me to ride her?" He asked. "She'll tell you." I said. "But horses can't speak." He said.
"Just trust me. She'll tell you. Now." I said and grabs the horse food. I hand it to Marcus. "Get to feeding." I said.
Jalena's POV:
Right now I'm at my lab working on my invention when my student intern, Octavius Quintin, walks in. "Excuse me, Dr. Summers?" Octavius asked. "Hey kid. What do you need?" I asked. "Um well I was just wondering if I could leave early? It's mine and Brandon's one year anniversary and I was planning on taking him to that Italian restaurant you're always talking about. Valentina's." He said. And of course that name brings back a certain memory.
*flashback*
I finish getting ready for my date with Jessie when I hear the doorbell ring. I hear my dad open the front door. "Oh hey Jessie. You look nice. I'm guessing you're here for Jalena?" Dad asked. "Thanks and yeah I am. It's our one year so I'm taking her to a fancy restaurant." Jessie said. "Nice. Jalena! Jessie's here!" Dad said. "Coming!" I said and walks out of my room. I walk to the stairs and sees Jessie wearing a suit. He notices me and his jaw drops. "Wow you look stunning." He said. I smile. "Thanks. You don't look too bad yourself." I said walking down and over to Jessie. "Have fun you lovebirds. And have my daughter back by 10, Thompson or you're dead." Dad said. "I know Mr. Summers. You remind me every date night and I still have her back in time." Jessie said. "Ok let's leave before my brothers come give you their overprotective big brother speech." I said. "Ok." Jessie said. "Bye papa. Love you." I said as me and Jessie walk out of the house and over to his chauffer, Andres. Jessie comes from a wealthy family so his parents don't drive him anywhere. They have Andres do that. Anyways, Andres opens the door for us. "Thank you, Andres." I said and gets in. Jessie gets in after me. Andres closes the door and walks over to the driver seat and gets in. "Where to, Monsieur Jessie?" Andres asked. "Valentina's please and thank you, Andres." Jessie said. Andres starts driving to the restaurant. "Ok so I was thinking that after we leave the restaurant we could go to that dance festival in the park." Jessie said. "That sounds perfect." I said. He smiles and kisses my cheek. Soon we arrive at the restaurant so Andres parks the car, gets out, and opens the door for us. We get out and Jessie leads me to the door. He opens the door for me. "Ladies first." He said. "Such a gentleman." I said and walks in. Jessie follows behind me. We walk over to reservation person. "Welcome to Valentina's. How may I help you?" The reserver asked. "We would like a table for 2 please." Jessie said. "Do you have a reservation?" The reserver asked. "Yes. Name is Thompson." Jessie said. The reserver looks at the list and nods. "Yes right this way please." The reserver said. We follow him to a table that's setup nicely. Jessie pulls my chair out for me. I smile and sits. He scoots me in and sits across from me. The reserver hands us menus. "Are you sure you wanna eat here? I mean this place looks way too expensive?" I asked. "Yes I'm sure. Besides money isn't a problem when you come from a very wealthy family." Jessie said. "But I don't like it when you spend so much on me. It makes me feel like a gold digger." I said. Jessie sighs and takes my hands in his. "Jalena, I know you're not a gold digger. If you were then you wouldn't have agreed to go out with me when I lied about being poor." He said. "I still don't understand why you lied about that." I said. "I lied because I wanted you to like me for me. Not for how much money I have." He said. "Jessie I could never love you just because you're rich. There is so much more to you than that. You're sweet and funny and loyal. That's the kind of guy I want. I love you so much Jessie." I said. "I love you too, princess." He said. We lean over and kiss.
*flashback over*
"Hello? Dr. Summers? Dr. Summer?" Octavius asked waving his hand in front of my face. I snap back to reality. "Yes?" I asked. "Oh good you're ok. For a second I thought you were gonna have a heart attack. So is it cool if I leave early?" Octavius asked. "Oh yeah. That's fine. Go have fun." I said. "Awesome. Thanks ma'am." He said and runs out of my lab. I go back to working on my invention. I finish it and smiles. "Finally. It's complete. Now to test it out." I said.
I grab a dead rose and sets it in front of the machine. I turn the machine on and aims it at the rose. A ray of light hits the rose and the rose starts coming back to life. I smile but then then machine malfunctions and aims something in the distance away from the lab. It zaps a hole in the window. I quickly turns it off. "I really hope no one got hurt." I said. After an hour I grab my coat and walks out of the building and goes to my car.
I get in and starts driving to Jitters. I stop at a red light. I look across at the sidewalk and sees Jessie. I gasp. "Jessie?" I asked myself. I rub my eyes and looks at the sidewalk to see him gone. I start breathing heavily. "Ok get it together. He's not really alive. You're just seeing things." I said to myself. The light turns green so I start driving again.
