Julian's POV:
*30 minutes later* I watch as Jalena finishes the pastry I made. "Is this your first time?" I asked. "Mmm well.... I didn't really like the idea of dating after Jessie died so I never did. So this is my first time dating in over 3 years." She said. I chuckle lightly. "No. Um I mean is this your first time having a jam roly poly?" I asked. She looks at me and smiles nervously. "Is that bad?" She asked. "No it's fine. First time for everyone." I said.
"True." She said. "You know I've done all the talking. It's your turn. I really don't know that much about you. So.... tell me stuff." I said. "Uh ok." She said. She thinks of something to say and sighs. "Ok well I'm 22, I've only ever lived in one place, I love science, and I'm the first and last girl in my generation to be born in my family." She said. "Really? Me too. See we already have so much in common." I said.
Jalena's POV:
"No we don't." I said. "Yes we do." Julian said. "No we do not." I said. "You're probably right. I mean you have a family who supports your love of science." He said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well my family were never exactly ok with the fact that I wanted to be a scientist. I was what you would call "the odd duck". I preferred going outside to explore rather than learning how to put on a tie." He said.
"Really?" I asked. "Yeah. Once I was had enough of them I decided to just pack my things and move to America. After that I applied for a forensics science school and became a CSI. I want to help people. There's good in this world but people only know how to bring out the bad. I joined team Flash to help metas, just like you, find the good in them. And right now I can look into your eyes and I can tell you're not evil." He said looking me in the eyes.
My heart starts racing. "I can see that you wanna be good. Both you and Voltage." He said. He looks behind me and smiles. "Wait here." He said and gets up and walks away. After a minute he walks back and sits. "This is for you." He said and hands me a rose. I smile and takes it. I bring it to my nose and smells it. Julian turns the radio on and the song Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley starts playing.
Julian gets up and offers his hand out to me. "May I have this dance?" He asked. I smile and sets the rose down. I take his hand and he helps me up. I place my left hand on his shoulder while holding his hand with my right hand. Julian holds my waist and we start dancing to the music. "You have the most beautiful brown eyes I've ever seen." He said. I blush once he says that. I then lay my head on his chest while we dance.
I hear Julian's heart beating rapidly. I look up at him. "Are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah why?" He asked. "Well your heart's beating really fast." I said. "That just means I'm happy. You make me happy." He said. "You make me happy too." I said. Julian closes his eyes and starts leaning in. I do the same. We close the space between us with a kiss. I can't believe it. Me and Julian are kissing. It literally feels like fireworks are going off in my brain.
We pull apart for air and we both smile uncontrollably. "Wow." I said. "That was amazing." Julian said. The song ends and then I start shivering because it's getting cold. "Are you cold?" Julian asked. "A little." I said. "Here." He said taking off his jacket and puts it on me. "Won't you get cold?" I asked. "Yes but I'm not worried about me. I don't want you catching a cold." He said.
Julian's POV:
After an hour I decided to take Jalena home. So we clean up the picnic and heads back to the car. Once we get to the car I put the stuff in the trunk and shuts it. I open the door for Jalena and she gets in. I close the door and gets back to the driver side and gets in. I turn on the car and pulls out of the parking lot and starts driving to Jalena's place. *at Jalena's place* I pull into the driveway and gets out.
I walk over and opens the door for Jalena and she gets out. I close the door after and we walk up to the porch. "I had a really great time tonight." Jalena said. "I'm glad you did." I said as we stop at the door. "Well I guess this is where we have to end the night." She said. "Yeah." I said. "Oh here." She said taking off my jacket and handing it to me. "No you keep it. It looks better on you." I said. She smiles and puts it back on.
"So I guess the question now is is there going to be more dates in the near future?" I asked. Jalena smiles again and leans in and kisses my cheek. "I sure hope so. Good night Julian." She said and walks into the house. I smile and walks back to my car.
