You'd had a shit week.

So many things had just gone wrong, and not even the kind of wrong that you could blame yourself for. If you had been the one making mistakes, causing these issues yourself, then you would have dealt with it. Taken into account what you'd done wrong and make sure to change it so it never happened again. But these weren't your fault. You weren't the one closing roads or having accidents at rush hour. You weren't the one fucking things up at work. You weren't the one stealing umbrellas. The only problem was, all of these things might not have been caused by you, but they sure as hell were affecting you. Still, you had never been one to complain and whine. If something had happened, you brushed it off and kept going. It's what you'd done all week. Now it was Friday, and you were just about fucking done. Your working week was over.

You just wanted to get home, prompting you to head out of the office as soon as your shift was over, ignoring everyone on the way out as you walked briskly to the subway station to get the train home. Usually you drove, but with how many times you'd been late that week because of roadworks you'd stopped bothering. It was easier this way—or at least you'd thought so, up until you arrived at the station and found your train was going to be late. Not a couple of minutes, not even half an hour. Clenching your fists, you opted to just walk to the next station. At least that way you'd be making progress and wasting time. With that in mind, you headed back out of the station, this time marching through the streets like your life depended on it—it just wasn't over yet.

A second later and you were on the floor, and crying out in pain, you looked round and scowled to see the heel of your shoe had broken. Rolling your eyes at how you couldn't seem to catch a break, you pulled off both your shoes and stood up, wincing slightly with the pain in your ankle. To begin with, you started planning where to go from here, but as you spotted the sign nearby signalling a bar, you tossed that aside for the moment. Right now, all you fucking wanted was a drink. As such, you headed and went straight inside. It was relatively empty, as was to be expected, and going right up to the bar, you took a seat and sighed softly at the relief. The bartender was busy with other customers, but you weren't bothered, instead scanning the alcohol on the back wall as you decided what to get.

When someone sat down next to you, you didn't pay any attention to it, only looking round as a gruff voice said,

"So, they're yours, huh?"

He was certainly better looking than you had expected, and definitely better dressed, in a tailored suit and tie. You were silent for a moment, caught in the intensity of his eyes—red sclera and green irises—simply watching as he slowly loosened the tie around his neck. Once you'd gotten a good look, you raised an eyebrow in response to his question, causing him to state simply,

"The shoes outside."

Narrowing your eyes as you remembered abandoning them on the street knowing they were broken, wondering how he knew, you abruptly smiled slightly as you realised, he must have noticed you were barefoot. Shrugging at that fact, you replied bluntly,

"The heel broke. No point keeping them."

"And with a twisted ankle you first reaction was to order a drink?"

"After the week I've had, yes. A drink is exactly what I need," You growled back, surprised to hear him sigh quietly and agree, exchanging names with this connection. At this point the bartender came over to ask you what you wanted to drink, only to be surprised once again as you heard another voice echoing your order. Glancing at each other with the coincidence, the bartender reached for the glasses as he told you the price, causing you to stare at him incredulously.

"Seriously? What's it made from to charge that price?" You snapped, to which the bartender shrugged. He didn't make the prices, just told them. As you sat debating whether or not to order it, you blinked in surprise as Kakuzu abruptly asked for a bottle, knowing he was just as outraged at the price as you were. You just hadn't expected him to turn to you and suggest casually,

"Looks like we're gonna be here a while. You wanna share?"

Unable to hold back a smile at the offer, you reached in your purse to grab some money.

Things were beginningto look up already.
