It was Saturday night, and you hadn't got anything to do. Not that you always had a party planned every weekend, or had somewhere to go, but still, there wasn't much going on. As such, you had decided you would try and get some work done, and got out your books, looking through your papers and focusing on what you needed to do. Of course, that was easier said than done, finding it was hard to concentrate on the work in front of you, trying to listen to music to help, only to discover that it ended up distracting you. But even when you turned it off it didn't seem to help, leaving you progressing at a snail's pace, having barely written a couple of paragraphs in an hour. Wondering just why it was so hard to concentrate, and at the same time contemplating just how long it was going to take you to actually get all your assignments done, you sighed and sat back, gazing out the window. Spinning your chair one way and then the other, you let your thoughts wander for a moment, until something caught your attention.

Pausing in your actions and snapping your attention back to the present, you narrowed your eyes as you listened, puzzling if you had heard something. After a few seconds and nothing happened, you shook your head and looked back to your laptop, ready to get back to work. It was how you continued for another minute or so, before a noise sounded out again. This time you were certain you had heard something, and pausing your music, pulling out your earphones, you pushed yourself away from the desk slightly, slowing your breathing and listening intently in order to locate the sound and figure out just what exactly it was. To begin with it didn't seem as if there was anything, and you were hearing things again, but just when you began to reach for your earphones and start working once more, something reached your ears. It was quiet, and it wasn't there for long, but it was there. Now curious, you stood up and went to your door. You always left it a little open at times like this, as a way of saying you were there and that people could come and talk to you if they wanted to.

As you reached it, placing your palm against the door to push it open, you heard the noise again, and begin closer this time, you were able to make out what it was—not that it was anything strange. You hadn't been able to tell before, but it was laughter. Conversation that got a bit loud. People moving around. There was a group of people in the living room of the dorm, and they were obviously hanging out. Not quite a party, but a gathering of sorts. From what you could make out, they were all guys, but apart from that, you didn't recognise any voices or who they might be. Still, it had nothing to do with you, and now you knew what the source of the noise was, you shrugged your shoulders and turned around, going back to your desk. It was only a few minutes later, however, as you got back to your music and assignment, that a knock sounded at your door. Immediately shutting off your music, you span your chair around, hesitating for a moment before you got up and went to your door. As far as you knew, all your friends were out, and you couldn't think of any reason why someone would need to talk to you, but not bothered by it, you simply opened the door to greet whoever was there.

You didn't know Kisame well, but you saw him around the dorm a lot, and you liked him. He was always friendly, greeting you and talking to you if you crossed paths, and he was always willing to help out. It was what made him popular with people, and even if most girls didn't see the attraction, generally because of the colour of his skin and gills, there was something about him that caught your eye. It was why you immediately smiled as he greeted you, returning the favour and staring up at him as you waited to see why he'd come to your room. There didn't seem to be any plausible reason for him to do so, considering you weren't exactly friends, but gathering he had a motive, you waited in silence, only beginning to get nervous when he didn't say anything. Narrowing your eyes, you watched as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, shifting uncomfortably and finding it hard to make eye contact, and questioned as to what was the matter. It was now that he looked up at you, and after a moment's silence, Kisame abruptly blurted,

"Can I bench press you?"

Instantly you froze, blinking in shock and unable to respond as you took this information in. Of all the things you had considered him to say, that had not been one of them. Seeing your confusion, Kisame quickly added,

"It's for a dare—I swear!"

The noises you had heard suddenly coming back to you, it dawned on you that most likely Kisame was one of the people hanging out in the living room, and some of the laughter probably involved dares. Glancing over his body and how muscular it was, you doubted it would be difficult for him, and you knew he was on several sports teams. Though a part of you was hesitant, nervous at what would happen, you didn't have anything to do, you liked Kisame, and the idea sounded kind of fun, prompting you to reply with a smile,

"Sure—why not?"
