Chapter 8
Aimee took me down several hallways, with several twists and turns, to the left, to the right, etc. I was confused. Just how did she find this place? "So Aimee, how did you find this place exactly?" I asked her.
"Oh, I was just hanging around when I discovered it," She answered vaguely.
That's strange, we weren't supposed to wander off on our own, we were only permitted to stay with the other attendants at all moments. I don't remember coming to this place, so she shouldn't either. I was just about to open my mouth to question her further, but she interrupted me before I had the chance to speak.
"Look, we've arrived!" She opened the door, revealing a long oval shaped-room, with several monitors in the center. You could see the diplomats' meeting, with one camera focused on each delegation. A gasp came from all the other delegations.
I turned to see what Aimee was thinking, only to find that she was gone. I had a bad feeling about this and the bottom of my stomach sank. Then, I heard footsteps echo from the hallway. I made a split-second decision and exited the room through the doors on the other side.
"Hey! Who's there! Stop this instant, you are trespassing in unauthorized territory!" I bolted and ran as fast as I could. It sounded like the person was chasing after me. I ran down the hallway and made a right turn. Then a left turn, and another left turn, and a right turn. Soon, it sounded like I was going to lose the person.
Once the sound of footsteps beside me had more or less disappeared, I leaned against the wall and heaved a breath. What a relief. Then it slowly dawned on me. I have no idea where I was.
This is not great. I couldn't be...
