"Ty'Quan, I'm going to say this and I'm only going to say it once," his mother stated, "if you and Benjamin don't get out of my living room eating all over my good living room set I'm going to kill the both of you."

"You wouldn't kill your favorite son and only grandson." Ty'Quan said. "Right, Benji?"

Benji cooed while holding the mushed cookie in his little hands. He looked back at his grandma and smiled. "Gamma."

"Grandma my behind. Get off of my couch." Pamela said. "Now."

Ty'Quan stood up, Benjamin in his arms, and moved into the kitchen. "What's the point of buying a couch if we can't sit on it?"

"You can sit in the den, not my living room." Pamela said. "You need a girlfriend. I'm sick of you."

"I love you, mom, why can't you just accept that?" Ty'Quan questioned.

"None of my other kids bother me as much as you." Pamela said. "Are you even talking to anybody?" Pamela then gasped and whispered: "Are you gay?"

"No, I like girls." Ty'Quan said. "I just...I dunno. I hung out with this lady last night, it was cool. I liked it."

"And? Are you going to take her on another date?"

"It wasn't a date. She was just sitting alone and I knew her so I sat with her and she's actually pretty fun to be around." Ty'Quan said. "She's very short...and pretty."

"Short and pretty? I'm going to need a better description than that."

"That's all I got." He answered. "Is the food done? I'm hungry."

"Mmm-hmm, don't change the subject now." Pamela said. "Just wait until your daddy gets home and watch I get you to tell me more about this mystery woman."

Ty'Quan chuckled.

"You can try."

"I really don't get the concept of this. I know I'm probably overthinking it, but I really can't grasp it."

Sapphire giggled, sipping more of her margarita out of the pineapple. Ty'Quan's eyebrows furrowed together. He looked over at Sapphire.

"Help, please?"

Sapphire lifted the bottle of liquor out of Ty'Quan's drink. "It's not open, crazy. It's just sitting in there."

"Oh." He said. "Now I feel uneducated."

"Don't feel like that, it's okay." Sapphire said. "You're like an old man."

"I'm twenty seven." Ty'Quan said. "I don't understand."

"Understand what?"

"That." He pointed.

Sapphire turned her head and saw a woman with barely any clothes on, one wrong move and she would've been naked. They both laughed.

"It's not polite to point, Ty'Quan."

"I apologize." He said.

"Hey, let's go to the beach." Sapphire suggested, sitting her cup down and grabbing Ty'Quan's hands. She pulled him up from where they were sitting and both of them stumbled their way through the warm sand towards the water.

"Your skirt is getting wet." Ty'Quan stated.

"It's fine. It's just a coverup anwyay, I have a bikini on underneath." She said. "Are you scared of the water?"

"Scared of what's in it. Every time I've came to the beach something's happen to me inside of the water." Ty'Quan said. "I'll watch from afar."

"Okay. Hold my hat."
