Sapphire closed the dryer door with her hip before walking down the hallway to the master bedroom to fold the basket full of clothes. Marcus came out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist and wrapped his arms around her to try and kiss her, but Sapphire moved.
"Is there something wrong?"
"No. I just don't want you touching me, I don't know where you've been." Sapphire said. "And you see I'm busy."
"I can't touch my wife, I can't kiss my wife, it seems like I can't do anything to please her." Marcus said and then scoffed. "Alright, Sapphire."
"Don't make it seem like I'm hard to please. All I ask for is the bare minimum; I want you to clean up after yourself, and tell me the truth when I ask about your whereabouts. You can't even do those simple little things but I'm supposed to give you some? You're out of your mind."
"Maybe if we just had sex like a regular married couple a lot of these arguments could be avoided." Marcus said. "You're just angry for no reason."
"Whatever you say, Marcus." Sapphire waved him off. "Look, you're leaving now."
"I have to go to work, Sapphire."
"You work a nine to five, it's after five." Sapphire crossed her arms. "So where are you going?"
"Business meeting." He responded, showing her his cellphone. "See?"
Ty'Quan: Don't forget. Business meeting tonight @ 7 at the restaurant downtown. You know, the one that starts with a K.
He locked the phone and then proceeded to get dressed. Sapphire crossed her arms. "This is the third business meeting in a month."
"We have them a lot." Marcus said. "Ty'Quan's working on a new project and he's trying to make sure he has everyone on deck before he launches it off. Therefore, there will be meetings. You're just so bent on accusing me of cheating to the point where you're making things up to fulfill that twisted fantasy in your head."
"If you have a problem with the number of meetings we have, feel free to contact Mr. Marshall."
"As a matter of fact, I will contact Mr. Marshall. I'm going to tell him I don't like the fact that my husband is a little do girl. I ask you to clean up, you ignore me but Daddy Marshall tells you to walk and you run. He tells you to hop and you jump, he says get on your knees and you'll get down there and suck—"
"Sapphire."
"—him up until there's nothing left for him to give!"
"Well, what do you want me to do? Quit? Then you're going to be complaining about me not having a job. I can't do anything right, nothing ever pleases you. This is what I talk about!"
"With who? Your side chick, your little boyfriends, or your baby daddy at work?"
Marcus just shot up and got dressed in silence. When he was finished, he grabbed his things and left without saying a word to his wife.

"Sooooo, have you and your man found out where to vacation this summer?"
Sapphire rolled her eyes. "No. I doubt we will go on a vacation this summer. I haven't been on a vacation in I don't know how long."
"I can tell. You have an ass of PTO days." Trel said, leaning against the wall. "Like almost five months worth. I don't see how you do it."
"I just come to work, even on my off days because I don't like sitting home." Sapphire said. "And I don't have anything to do when I'm off. I guess the days add up."
