"So you've been cheating on me? With a girl who's half my age? You said my age didn't matter to you, Greg."
"Tamera, you don't understand." Greg said. "And I'm not about to waste my time explaining it to you, are you going to sign the divorce papers or not?"
Greg had decided he wanted to divorce Tamera and give all of his attention, and money, to Milani. That was the least he could have done considering the fact that Milani was carrying his child. On top of that, Greg always promised himself that he would give his child the healthy, two parent household that he never had.
"Do you love her?"
"I didn't at first, but now I do." Greg said. "Tamera, you cheated on me first. I saw my brother's name pop up on your screen that night; you and him have been sneaking around for months. At first, I was just talking to Milani just to get payback for what you did to me, but when we started hanging out more I liked her."
"Then you had sex with her."
"Then I had sex with her." Greg repeated. "And everyday after that it just got better and better and better. She's pregnant with my baby, Tamera, I can't just let her go through a pregnancy alone."
Tamera looked sick; she looked as if she were about to cry. She glanced down at the divorce papers sitting on the table then back up at Greg's face.
"You think she's better than me?"
"I never said that. Ever." Greg said. "But if you feel like that's what I said then go ahead and believe it, I'm not stopping you. She's just a good person who treats me like a man instead of a walking piggy bank. She deals with me for me, not for what I can do for her."
His phone started to vibrate and he looked down at it at the same time Tamera did.
"She's calling you."
"I see. I'll call her back when I'm done with this." He said, pressing the power button. "Can you sign the paper?"
"No." Tamera said. "I'm not signing the papers."
Greg exhaled and ran his hands down his face. "Please don't make this harder than it needs to be. I'm not in love with you anymore."
"Greg, we haven't even been married that long. You want to just throw it away over some mistake?"
"Cheating isn't a mistake. You got his number, texted him, and you two planned to meet up behind my back." Greg said. "That's not a mistake, you were fully aware of what you were doing. Really all of this is your fault so stop trying to manipulate me into thinking it's not. Sign the papers."
"I'm not doing it." Tamera said.
"You have thirty days." Greg said. "Then I won't have a choice but to take it to the judge and they'll finalize the papers anyway. I really don't want to have to go through that with you, but I will. You had someone else in mind so you don't need me."
"Yes, I do, Greg! I need you." Tamera said. "How could you do this to me over a simple mistake?! It was just an accident, you and I had gotten into a heated argument and I was out drunk and him and I ended up having sex. I regretted it when I woke up that next morning and realized what I had done."
"But you did it over and over again."
"I did not. He wanted to but once I found out I tried to cut him off but the man is crazy and he keeps finding me." Tamera said. "Greg, please. Please don't leave me; I'm scared he might hurt me."
Now Greg was torn. He knew how his brother acted which was part of the reason why he, and the rest of the family, never said a word to him. They basically disowned him and never cared about what he did or if he lived or not. He wanted to protect Tamera because if something happened to her he wouldn't have been able to forgive himself, but at the same time he had to consider Milani's feelings as well.
