"It seems there used to be some images on it, but I can't seem to get them back." Purah explained, before pushing a bit of hair behind her ear.
She picked the slate up and handed it to Zelda. "You can take it, test out the image function," she said, winking. Zelda seemed quite excited by this. "Okay!"
...
Me and Zelda were on our way back to the castle. Afterwards? I'm not sure sure. I'm just supposed to go where I'm told and do as I'm supposed to.
"Let's stop for now. We mustn't travel on an empty stomach." Zelda suddenly spoke. I looked up to see the sun sat in the middle of the sky, but despite the clear sky there was still a gentle shiver in the air- warning of the near winter.
I nodded in response to her, but I don't think she saw. I got off my horse, and I walked beside her for a second, before suddenly there was a blade of sorts around our necks.
We paused, the only thing being heard was our heavy breathing. I gently turned my head to see the mask of a Yiga member.
"We can get you guys to come the hard way, or the easy way." The member spat. My eyebrows furrowed. We were silent and still for a moment.
Deep breath, link. This is gonna hurt.
I couldn't try and move, cause even if I did it took one pull and the princess was dead. The curved blades were covered in spikes of sorts, so it wouldn't be an easy kill- well, for the one being killed.
Before they could even think, I quickly grabbed the blades- holding onto the edge and gripping hard to keep them from moving. Blood spilled from my hands, and it hurt- a lot, but that didn't matter.
I used my leg to kick Zelda out of the way while also pulling the blades up and doing a backwards flip, and suddenly, the blade was around the two members necks. They still held onto it, but my strength kept them from pulling it away.
With a sudden tug, I sliced the necks of the members. I heard their coughs as their necks were slit.
I pushed them aside, and they both fell limp. I kicked their bodies to check they were dead, and they seemed to be so. I grabbed the weapons, before attaching them to my hip, despite my hurt hand.
I looked to see Zelda, staring in somewhat fear. Her eyes trailed from my face to my hands, which were bloody, very bloody.
"Are you... okay?" She asked quietly. I just nodded, before pulling my torn gloves off. I sighed gently and walked over to the lake, rinsing the blood out. I doubted more members would come, at least not for now.
After rinsing the blood out, and wrapped my hands up.
"Thank you."
I turned to see the princess, who was looking down in embarrassment almost.
"And sorry."
I gave a bit of a confused look.
"Sorry for... uh... being so cold." She explained, before walking away to go eat.
I sighed. I did wonder, why was she so cold? Maybe she thought I hated her too for some reason?
I wonder what life is like in her shoes. I know it mustn't be easy, all the eyes upon you- and not being praised ever as you can't do the one thing you're supposed to. I feel quite bad for her... she probably doesn't see any of my struggles, though. Nobody ever has, and the one person who forces them upon me acts like it never happened.
I don't think any of them know what happens behind closed doors. Father forcing me to train until I'm bleeding and bruised, all from the age of four. He's even forced elixirs down my throat that I don't know the side effects too. Probably some sort of illegal booster.
