It had been two years since he last saw your face, a year and a half since he broke your heart. He knew that you would be at the concert tonight. You had promised them that as soon as they were able to tour again that you'd be there cheering them on. What he didn't expect was to relive that night all over again as soon as he saw you.
He was angry when you called that day. It had been two months since they had canceled their first few concerts. He had been drinking because they had gotten the call that the rest would be canceled too. So when you called, he did what he thought was right. He didn't know when he'd be able to see you again, so he broke things off.
Once his temper had calmed and his mind cleared, he realized it was the wrong decision. He tried to reach out to you a month later, but you were heartbroken and cut all ties with him. You still kept in contact with the guys. You didn't tell them what happened, only that you decided to take a break.
When the guys told him that you would be there, he was happy and a little nervous. Would you still be mad at him? But as soon as he had seen the smile on your face, he knew that you had forgiven him. You were singing and dancing with your friend when he noticed it, the ring on your left hand.
He kept himself composed the best he could as they performed. The guys would check on him in between sets to make sure he was okay. They had also seen the ring. They knew that you had been dating someone for the past year. But they didn't know about the engagement, they would have warned him if they had. You hadn't had time to tell them about it. It happened out of the blue last night. You were going to take off the ring so that you could tell them first, but you had gotten caught up in the excitement and forgot.
That night while he showered, he realized what he had to do. Tomorrow was their last day in town, and he wasn't going to leave until he talked to you. When he got up the following day, one of the bodyguards was waiting with a car to take him to you. It was Sunday, and he knew exactly where you'd be.
"I knew you'd show up," You said, never looking away from the lake.
"How'd you know it was me?" Namjoon asked as he sat beside you.
"Only a few people know where I spend my Sunday mornings," You responded as you closed your sketchbook, "Plus, I saw the car coming up the road." Namjoon let out a laugh beside you. The two of you sat there for a while in silence.
"I'm sorry," Namjoon said, pulling your attention away from the water.
"I know." You smiled at him, "I'm sorry too, and I should have realized that you didn't mean it and given you some time."
"Do you love him?" Namjoon asked.
"Yes, very much." Namjoon couldn't help but smile along with you. He so badly wanted to be the one who had you forever. But it hadn't worked out that way, you were happy, and that's all that mattered.
"Am I invited to the wedding?" He let out a laugh when he saw the surprised look on your face.
"You'll come? Really?" You couldn't help the excitement in your voice.
"Of course. Even with everything that has happened between us, you are still one of my closest friends." You let out a squeal of excitement before you hugged him.
"Thank you, Namjoon." You said as you felt his arms wrap around you to return the hug.
"I'm just warning you now. If he hurts you in any way, I will kick his ass."
