Winter's Daughter

Chapter 4

Amelia's POV~

We were on Long Island and we had just passed a sign that said Delfi Strawberries when Leo said, "We're here."

"But it's just a hill with a strawberry farm." I said with a confused look on my face.

"You'll see," was all he said. A minute later an entire camp shimmered into view.

"Oh. My.-" my sentence was cut off when I saw a man riding a horse, wait no. It was a man who was horse from his waist down. As he galloped closer I saw something that made me speechless. "Mr. Brunner?!" I half screamed.

"What? " Leo questioned, "Who is Mr. Brunner? "

"Oh, um, ya, uh, I forgot to tell you that Mr. Brunner is actually a centaur, and his actual name is Chiron."

"Welcome back children, and welcome to Camp Half-blood, Amelia. " Mr. Brunner/Chiron greeted.

"But- Wha- Your a-" I stuttered.

"Amelia please come with me, I will explain everything. "

"Ya, ya o-ok." I stuttered again (to be honest it was quite embarrassing). He took me to this dark room in a big blue house. It had a couch and a TV. He popped in a VCR and pressed play.

" Please sit." he asked and I took a seat on the couch. The video explained everything, where I was, why I was there, who I was, and so on. After the video Chiron said, "Now do you understand?"

"Ya," was all I said. Chiron called for this girl named Piper. After a few minutes a girl with choppy, long, brown hair came in. She had on jean shorts, an orange T-shirt that had the letters CHB on it, and her hair was braided with a feather.

"Hi, I'm Piper, leader of the Aphrodite cabin. I'll show you around." she greeted.

"I'm Amelia," I said as we walk out into the sun. There were twelve cabins in a half circle with some jutting out of the ends. Once my brain started to work again I realized it was an omega. It had some more cabins inside the omega. Piper led me to the biggest cabin. It was all white marble with columns on the corners." This is the Zeus cabin, only one camper lives in it because of the packt after world war two. I knew what she was talking about, it was in the orientation video.

"Well who is that? " I question.

"This is my boyfriend," she says opening the door. Sitting on a bunk is 17 year old boy with blond hair and a small cut on his upper lip. He looks up.

"Hey Pipes, new camper?" he says looking at Amelia.

"Hey I'm Amelia." I greet.

"Hey I'm Jason." he said back. After that Piper showed me around the rest of the camp. There is a canoeing lake, a forest, a strawberry field, a sword arena, even an archery range. I bet Merida would love that. I was thinking about my friends when I hear a conch horn blow.

"Oh, Ya, I forgot to tell you that there is capture the flag today, well our capture the flag is with armour and weapons" Piper explained. Before I had time to react Chiron yelled "The teams are Zeus, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hepheastus, Apollo, and Demeter for Red team. Blue team is Athena, Poseidon, Perphone, Hades, Hypnos, and Ares. Now, get ready!" Piper helped me into my armour, and I chose to wield a sword. Jason put me and some Aphrodite kids on guard duty, with Apollo kids in the trees. So, I'm standing there with my sword drawn, scared with a stream to the right of me with Zeuses Fist behind me, so if anyone comes, I'm toast. I hear a rustle to the left of me and I quickly turn to it. I see a group of 5 kids come out of the woods. "So, your the new camper, I'm Simon, son of Ares. Now unless you want to be in infermiry for a few days, I suggest you just give me the flag." Simon threatens. Now, yes, I was scared, and yes, I knew that he was probably stronger than me, but I abhor it when people threatens me, so that set me off the edge.

" Not. A. Chance. " I responded. And I lunged.

I had no idea what I was doing, but I was doing well. I just let my body take over and I did great. Well untill his friends got over the shock and they cornered me against the river. I was slowly backing up, not knowing what was behind me. I stepped back and Simon and his friend dropped their mouths. I just stood there, wondering what they were looking at, untill I followed their eyes and looked down at my feet. I was standing on ice. I turn around and I see ice spreading over the water like ripples from a pond. I heard a roar of victory and the conch horn blow and every one comes to me. Everyone is over here when they look up at my head and I say "What? "

I look up and there is a miniature blizzard above my head."Whats going on? What is that?"

"You have just been claimed. " Chiron states, "Behold, Amelia Elsa Arendelle, daughter of Boreas, northern wind god of snow and blizzards!" he proclaims.
