Chapter Nine

Shorter than usual, I'll make sure it's longer next time. 

"Do you know these marks are?" Natasha asks me, showing me a mark on her neck. It seemed familiar but I just couldn't place it...think Crystal think.

"I don't know, it looks familiar but I can't place it." I say quietly, Peter pulling me back into his chest as Tony and T'Challa come back into my room in the medbay.

"We all have it, well minus T'Challa" Tony says, coming over and checking my vitals.

Soulmark

"It's a soulmark" Peter says, a frown on his face. "I just...just heard that in my head...how?"

"Okay so now Peter is hearing voices in his head, fabulous" Tony says sarcastically and I can't help but laugh quietly.

Tony, Nat and Peter snap their head up to look at me and I blush. What is with that reaction?

"Soulmarks represent soulmates" I say quietly, looking at the floor. "Is that what you guys are?"

Yes, they're not the only ones though.

An assistant of Tony comes into the room and hands him a tablet, he reads the information on the screen with a stern face. I watch him nervously and he gives a small nod to Nat.

"Mr Stark, what's wrong?" Peter says, gripping my hand tightly.

"We share a soulmate, I think you should call me Tony now." Tony says with a small smirk before it falls as he shows Nat the tablet. "Ward has been exposed as a Hydra agent but it seems that before he was taken into custody, he notified Hydra of your existence. Now both S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra want you in their ranks."

"We won't allow them to get anywhere near you Crystal" T'Challa speaks up, giving me a warm smile.

"I'm grateful for you being here your majesty but I don't want to take you away from your duties" I say politely, squeezing Peter's hand when he gives it a small squeeze.

"I am forever in your debt after you helped with Barnes" He says and I give him a small smile.

"So the soulmarks-

"Perimeter Breach, Incoming Portal!"

I jump at JARVIS's voice and everyone in the room steps closer to me, Peter pulls me into his lap and wraps his arms around me.

"Nat, your majesty-"

"On it Tony."

"Peter, keep her safe"

"Where the hell are we?" George asks as he rises from his crouched position next to Noah and Jack.

The three of them looked around, their surroundings suggesting they were in a fancy office building. Burn marks surrounded the three on the floor, a side effect of the portal.

"Crystal's here, I can smell her scent" Jack growled out lowly, anger coursing from him because of her long absence.

"Then we'll find her" George says darkly, his wand out by his side "Noah you're unusually quiet."

"I just realised where we are, this is the Avengers tower" Noah says, looking around expectantly.

Tony breaks through the window in his suit, Nat on his back as T'challa breaks through the wall. The three unknown mates prepare to attack Nat scans the threat for any weaknesses. Everyone prepares to attack when Nat notices something on George.

"Wait, you have the same mark" She speaks up, her tone emotionless despite her surprise.

"Where's our mate?" Jack snarls at them, his eyes silver.

"Crystal isn't yours" Tony says, his tone unusually dark. "She ours too"

"Where is she?!"

"I'm here"

Everyone in the room turned out to the soft voice belonging to Crystal in Peter's arms, Jack quietly growling at Peter's arms wrapped tightly around her. George's eyes widened at the sight of his mate and Noah gasps, hoping the sight isn't just an illusion.

"Who are you?" She politely asked but sadness filled the three unknown mates.

"You really don't know?" George's broken voice filled the room as his eyes glistened with unshed tears.

"I've seen flashes....but I don't know who you are" Crystal responds, sadness in her voice.

Tony leaves his suit, his mind focused on comforting his mate. He goes over to her and Peter, gently taking her hand. Natasha comes over to join them but her gun was still in her hands, ready for any sudden attack.

"We're your-"

"Family" Noah jumps in, ignoring the glares he got from Jack and George.

"We want to take you home"
