Chapter Eighteen

"This place is disgusting" My nose wrinkles as I straighten up from my crouched position, Void also scrunching his nose up. "I think Loki would have a heart attack if he was here."

"And why did you only bring me with you to this disgusting house?" Void's voice was passive but I could see curiosity in his eyes, making me smirk slightly.

"I need manipulation, the people in this world are powerful. You know how to play people like pawns, that's exactly what I want right now. Plus I don't trust you alone with my mates." I signal for him to follow as I walk to the house's exit.

"What is this world filled with?" We both walk down the street, keeping an unintentional close eye on the shadows.

"Demons, werewolves, vampires, Fae, Shadowhunters, warlocks and angels." I count off my fingers and I look up in surprise at the nogitsune as he snorts.

"I swear those puppies breed everywhere."

"Hey!" I whack him on the chest before we both straighten, realising we were starting to act like....friends? "I need a secure place to send a signal that my mates will recognise and hopefully we can make some allies that will help us against Bonnie. Which means you need to be less grumpy."

"I'm not grumpy."

"Say that to your face nogitsune." We reach a bustling restaurant and I scrutinize it before giving a small nod. This place will be fine.

We find a table near the back and I mutter a few words, a large pulse of my magical signature getting sent out to the city.

"Well hopefully that will work."

Magnus freezes as he feels the extremely powerful magical signature rush over him, the hair on the back of his neck rises up and he feels a chill overcome him.

"Magnus? What's wrong?" Alec rubs his boyfriends arms in comfort as he tries to calm the slight tremor running through his body. the magic felt powerful, too powerful. It didn't belong here, the amount of angel magic within the signature didn't belong to any known creature.

"Somethings here, do you still have contact with those visitors from a few months ago?" The Warlock immediately went to his book shelf and tried to find a book on magical signatures.

"I'm sure Jace has, I'll message him." Alec pulls out his phone and starts typing quickly, a small frown on his face when he gets a reply. "He was with them, interrogating them about some attacks but they left immediately a few moments ago."

"So they forced their way out?"

"That's exactly what happened."

"So now what? We just wait?" I roll my eyes at Void's bored tone of voice and just keep on looking at the entrance to the restaurant, surely they would have felt it by now?

As if on cue, I stand up in excitement when Kai rushes in through the door, Jasper and Fred not far behind.

"Crystal!" Kai smiles brightly as he hugs me tightly, placing a soft kiss on my lips.

"You found us." Jasper sighs in relief, a feeling of safety filling me as I hug my brother.

"I couldn't leave you guys alone, I'm surprised the city isn't destroyed yet." Fred laughs and I pull him gently to sit down next to me, giving a look to Void to behave.

"So this is Void?" Jasper tilts his head to the nogitsune and I nod in confirmation.

"How could you tell?" Void's voice had little warmth but it didn't deter Jasper.

"Noah isn't this grumpy."
