A/N Teng Jian is a loner and tends to disappear from his guards and other officials he doesn't care for them much.
I heard the Dire owl
"The Dire owl," Lan Zhan said
"The damn bird again." Teng Jian said clearly mad
"We Fell into a trap," Me and Xian said.
The doors broke not too soon after everyone jumped back except Nie Huaisang's dumb ass he defended against a few before I saved him by Pushing them back with my spirit barrier. It pushes attacks back off of me about 6 feet to be exact.
Xian used his spirit net to block all the puppets from coming after us. He readied his sword.
"They are not dead yet Xian" I told him ushering for him to put away his sword.
"You forgot. You said it. Look at their pupils." Lan Zhan told Xian looking at the puppets. we starred at the puppets for a long time before Xian spoke.
"Lan Zhan, do you have any good solution?" Xian asked him.
"Dash" Lan Zhan said. Nie Huaisang seemed completely scared.
"Wait, wait, wait. Bro Lan. Bro Wei. Isn't it reckless for us to dash through them? Shall we discuss it? If we go out like this, aren't we courting death? Bro Wei, I really don't want to die. My canary..." Nie Huaisang rambled scared until Lan Zhan used his silencing spell to shut him up.
Me and Teng Jian looked at each other nodding.
"Listen. Bro Nie. Once we get out, you must cling to me. Don't let go of my hand, got it? Never let it go, understand? Let's go." Xian said getting ready to run we all did. we heard a flute start to play it seemed to control the puppets. the moved away on their own.
I sighed in relief that I didn't have to run.
"Let's go while we have the chance," Teng Jian said looking over at the puppets leaving.
"Don't move" A voice rang out I froze.
Xian and Nie Huaisang moved.
"Don't move" The voice rang out. I almost instantly after hearing it the first time knew. It was Jiang Cheng.
"She... Why does she appear again?" Nie Huaisang said terrified.
"You ignorant rushed into the Tiannv Temple. What punishment do you think you deserve?" Jiang Cheng said still hidden behind the statue. I almost scoffed but didn't want to ruin the fun he was having.
"Don't punish us! Don't punish us!" Nie Huaisang prayed well begged
"Wei Wuxian and Wei Zi You departed without permission. Do you plead guilty?"
I and Xian scoffed. Teng Jian put away his sword.
"Jiang Cheng, if you don't come out immediately, Lan Zhan will lose his temper," Xian said. this made me giggle.
Jiang Cheng walked out from behind the statue looking naturally fed up with everything. Xian ran over and threw an arm around his shoulders.
"What are you doing here," I asked walking over to the two boys. Jiang Cheng took notice of Teng Jian quickly shooting me a knowing look.
