Chapter 10

Anna's pov: "I-....Ik I love her as a friend. But anything more?"

A/D: "you better figure it out because she clearly doesn't like waiting"

E: "hey what are you guys talking about?"

I turn around real quick. How long has she been standing there?

A/D: "Anna's feelings. Scary place"

E: "Ik. It's like a haunted maze"

A: "haha so funny"

A/D: "she's just like her mother"

A: "hey dad I'm curious. Do you know what happened to mom? I don't really remember her"

A/D: "well...your mom and I were very much in love when we were younger. But as time went on she uh, she started using. When you were born it got much worse. I had no choice. I sent her to rehab. She was in and out for over 4 years. But when she finally was better for good, she left us. Didn't want to have the stress of taking care of you and didn't want me around her either"

A: "she, she left because of me"

A/D: "Anna no this is not your fault"

A: "i um, I'm gonna go get some air"

I walk away and head outside. I stand at the edge of the patio and looked out. I never noticed how calming the world was until now. It's was so peaceful. Then I heard the door open. I looked back and it was Eva. She walked over beside me and didn't say anything. She rested her head in my shoulder and I rested my head on top of hers. After a while she spoke up.

E: "this isn't your fault. Your mom had her own issues. Anyone who leaves you is stupid and is missing out because getting to know the real you is the best thing ever"

A: "thanks. But still. Everyone leaves me"

E: "no no no. Don't throw this on you again"

A: "but that's what happened isn't it?" I say backing away from her.

E: "I mean yes but"

A: "there is not but Eva. That's what happened. She left because of me"

E: "she left because she has her own problems. She couldn't handle life's responsibilities"

A: "it's just a matter of time before you leave me too"

I started pacing back and fourth. The thought of losing Eva ran through my mind. I can't let that happen. It would kill me.

E: she grabbed me. "Hey look at me. I'm not gonna leave. Ok?"

A: "ok"

Evas pov: I finally get Anna to calm down. When she's calm we chill outside for a little while longer and then head back inside. We all talk for a while. When it gets to be 8:30 we get ready to head home. I thank them for having us and then head outside.

A: "hey can you drive I'm really tired"

E: "yeah sure"

We get in the car and I start driving. Anna falls asleep really quick. I look at her. She looks really pretty. I text my mom that I'm gonna be spending the night at friends house. I hope Anna let's me stay.

It's a long drive of silence. I didn't play music because I was afraid it might wake her so I just sat in the silence while driving.

When we get to her house I walked over and opened the door for her. I helped her out and up the stairs. When we got to her room I grabbed her some clothes to change into. When she was done changing I asked if I could spend the night and she said yea. When she was getting into bed I saw my mom spamming my phone saying stuff like no, you have school tmrw, get your ass home, who is the friend your with. I just turned my phone off and laid next to Anna.

She hugged me really tight and held me. It was nice to be held my Anna. I hugged her back and soon I fell asleep.

When I woke up the next morning it was 10:30. Shit my moms gonna kill me. Oh well. I look over and see Anna's still sleeping. I hope she's feeling better. I hug her and she hugs me.

A: "good morning"

E: "morning"

A: "what time is it?"

E: "10:30"

A: "oh Eva your missing school. Want me to give you a ride"

E: "nah I'm just gonna skip today"

A: "nice"

We lay there for a while. After about an hour I finally get up. Me and Anna go out and get some food and then I ask her to bring me home. When she pulls in the driveway my mom runs out.

E/M: I get out of the car and she says "have you lost your mind?!"

E: "mom you need to calm down"

I hear Anna get out and walk over and lean against the car.

E/M: "why are you with her. I told you to stay away from this girl"

A: "yeah and? She's in control of her life not you"

E/M: "excuse me?"

A: "Ik you might think your being a good mom by making sure she does the right things but that's not what's happening. Your too controlling. Yes my mom may have left me when I was little bit at least I'm being treated like a prisoner. You are making her life miserable and that is worse then leaving."

E/M: "you have no idea what you are talking about. Tell her Eva. We don't need this trash getting into our life and ruining it"

E: "don't call her that. She's not trash. Besides she's right. You make my life a living hell and I hate it. Your love is conditional. I don't want that"

E/M: "I told you, if you wanna live in my house then you follow my rules"

E: "you know what. Anna come with me"

She follows me inside into my room. My mom is yelling at us the whole way but when we get to my room I lock the door.

E: "pack as much as you can"

A: "alright. Your gonna stay at my place ok?"

E: "alright. Thanks"

A: "no problem"

When we finish packing we continue to ignore my mom. We load it into the car and get back in. As we drive away I fight back tears. My mom doesn't love me. She just wants someone to control. She just wants it to be her way.

A: "hey. I'm sorry about that"

E: "no thank you for sticking up for me"

A: "anytime"
