Chapter 20

Evas pov: when I woke up Anna was already gone. I saw a note on the pillow. I picked it up and it said "good morning gorgeous. Wanted to head out before your mom was up. I had an amazing night. I'll be here at 9:00 to get you. P.S. you snore"

I laughed a little and got up and got ready for school. I ate something and waited for Anna. When she got here I saw that Dev was in the front so I got in the back with Sab. I gave her a hug and kissed Anna's cheek. She started driving.

S: "so I take it you guys worked things out?"

E: "yeah"

A: "never been better"

D: "well that's good"

When we got to school we were running late so we didn't have time to stay and talk so me and Anna just headed to class. When we got there the teacher wasn't happy. Since me and Anna had gotten suspended for fighting he didn't want us near eachother. He told us that not only we can't be partners but we aren't allowed to sit near eachother. This was the one class I liked because I could be near Anna.

Anna was arguing with him but once he threatened to kick her out she stopped. When lunch rolled around my day had already sucked. Turns out that I was failing just about every class.

When I got let out of class for lunch Anna was waiting for me. I came out and hugged her. She held me tight.

E: "today has been awful"

A: "yeah" she said pulling me in even tighter.

E: I pulled away "alright let's go"

We started walking. My hand kept brushing Anna's. I went to hold her hand but she pulled it away. I stopped walking. She turned and looked at me.

A: "what?"

E: "really Anna? You won't even hold my hand?"

A: "Eva we have to keep it low key. Holding hands sends mixed messages"

E: "ok whatever"

We kept walking but keeping our distance now. I don't like low key but it's what she wants. We didn't speak much for the rest of the day.

When school got out I headed to the parking lot where I met the girls. On the drive home me and Anna still hadn't talked to eachother.

We dropped off the other girls and Anna started driving but it wasn't towards my house. We got to an empty parking lot and she pulled in and stopped the car.

E: "um what are we doing here?"

A: "relax I'm not trying to anything inappropriate. I wanna do something so you pick"

E: "idk Anna. I have to do work"

A: "come onnn evvaaa don't be boring"

E: "Anna I'm failing everything I need to get back on track before my mother kills me"

A: "alright fine but let me study with you"

E: "no"

She looked at me confused. I responded a little to quick

A: "no?"

E: "I um, I don't wanna get distracted"

A: "I won't be a distraction I gotta catch up on work too"

E: "idk Anna I kinda wanna do this alone"

A: "why are you being like this?"

E: "I'm not being like anything Anna"

A: "yes you are. Your pushing me away"

E: "yeah well you did the same thing to me today so"

A: "Eva you said you were fine doing this low key"
