Clarke got a page and groaned. "Dammit, Ken." She said as she started towards the stairs
He was the worst patient she's ever had. Not that she's actually had many patients being an intern and all but he was the worst. He constantly was paging her for stupid things such as finding something to watch on the television or wanting more pillows. She did not go to medical school for four years to have to be an errand girl.
She huffed as she got to the top of the stairs. She definitely was breaking Luna's rule of answering a page at a run. She made no real effort to move quickly. She just took her time thinking it was something irrelevant yet again. Boy was she wrong. There was nursing rushing into the room. The machines were beeping wildly and the man was seizing.
"What took you so long?" A nurse asked
"He's having grand mal seizures. How do you want to proceed doctor?" Another nurse asks
Clarke froze as the nurse began to ramble off the meds they've already given to him
"Did you page Dr.Woods and Dr.Forest?" Clarke asked as she pulled out her quick reference book from her lab coat
"Yes." A nurse says
"Dr. Griffin, you need to tell us what you want us to do." The male nurse says
"His heart stopped." Another nurse says as the machine flatlined
A woman pushed in the crash cart and turned on the paddles and handed them to Clarke.
"Charge to 200," Clarke says
"Charged." The nurse says
"Clear," Clarke says as she hit her with the paddles
This continued for about 60 seconds where Clarke would tell them to charge at a higher voltage and shock Ken.
"60 seconds Dr.Griffin you need to administer another drug." The male nurse says
"Charge again." Clarke snapped
The nurse hesitated
"I said charge again." Clarke yelled
The nurse hit the button "Charged." She said
"Clear," Clarke said as she shocked the patient
"I see sinus rhythm." A nurse says as the heartrate formed on the monitor
"What the hell happened?" Lexa asked coming in the doorway
Clarke was practically out of breath from the sheer adrenaline "He had a seizure, and his heart stopped." She huffs out
"Seizure? you were supposed to be monitoring him." Lexa says as she threw on her stethoscope and listened to Ken's heartrate
"I checked on him and he-" Clarke goes to say but Lexa shook her head and held out her hand to silence her
"I got it just go. Someone get me his damn chart please." Lexa says annoyed
Clarke starred at Lexa in disbelief. She hung her head and walked out the door. She saw Luna speed walking towards Ken's room.
"You get a 911, you page me immediately not in the five minutes it takes you to respond to your page. You're on my team. Someone dies and it's my ass on the line. You hear me, Griffin?" Luna asks grilling her
Clarke walked quickly down the hallway
"Clarke," Raven says seeing her speed walking down the hall
Clarke opened the hospital back door and threw up by a tree. Raven sighed and rubbed her back.
"You tell anyone and I'll kill you," Clarke said as she wiped her mouth
