Clarke pursed her lips and got up from the chair and headed for the door.
"Clarke wait please," Lexa pleaded
"You need to figure out what you want Lexa. I can't take the back and forth with you anymore. Either love me or let me go," Clarke said hoarsely
Lexa's eyes filled with tears that refused to fall. She remained silent as the blonde's footsteps echoed down the hallway. She sat down in her desk chair for what felt like hours before her pocket vibrated. She abruptly pulled it out and a familiar face populated on the screen along with the caller id. Lexa wiped her face and cleared her throat before picking it up.
"I'm working," Lexa said coldly
"I sorry mumma," Rhea mumbled sadly
Lexa's heart dropped at the sound of her daughter being upset and worse her being the cause of it. She thought it was her wife calling her. Lexa felt as though nothing she did was right lately.
"I'm sorry baby, I didn't know it was you." Lexa said as she wiped the fresh tears that fell down her face
"You come home?" Rhea asked as she ran her hand along the rug in Lexa's room
A shout on the other end of the phone came through
"Rhea, that room better be picked up in the next twenty minutes!" Costia called out from where she was making dessert in the kitchen
"I going mommy!" Rhea called back from her spot under the bed where she was having her secret phone conversation
"I'll be home soon baby," Lexa promised
"When soon?" Rhea asked
"By time you clean your room," Lexa chuckled, earning a groan from the little girl on the other end
She heard footsteps coming down the hallway and she gasped before ending the call
"Rhea?" Anya asked from the doorway
"Down here," Rhea called out from under the bed
Anya got down onto the ground and was met with two large blue/grey eyes "This doesn't look like your room kiddo," she said
Rhea huffed
"C'mon, i'll help you out then we can have dessert," Anya said with a slight smile on her face
Rhea let her aunt help her out from under the bed and they walked hand in hand to the little girl's room. She had made quite the mess earlier and was suddenly regretting her decision to play princess and dragons. The small legos scattered the floor along with various barbies and toy dragons. She had built tall sky scrappers and had torn them down one by one.
Anya grabbed the bins that corresponded with each toy and sorted them out with the little girl. Rhea was very much like Lexa in the way that everything had a designated home. It was a color coded system with the legos, barbies, and dragons. Slowly but surely they all were put away before the two girls went running down the hallway towards the kitchen.
Costia looked at them amused as she ate one of the cupcakes she had spent the last hour perfecting. Her wife didn't care too much for sweets but somehow she always had a soft spot for these strawberry cupcakes. She hadn't made them since before their daughter was born and she was excited to see if Rhea would love them too or not. Costia picked Rhea up with one arm and set her on the island before removing more of the cupcake wrapper and offering the still warm cupcake towards small eager lips.
Rhea took a big bite earning a laugh from Anya as she reached over and grabbed one for herself. Rhea's eyes went wide as the flavors erupted on her little tongue. Costia smiled as she leaned down and kissed the top of her forehead before putting the remainder of the cupcake in her daughter's hands.
