When the recess bell rang, me and Brooklyn scramble out of the classroom to go to the hill again. When we were walking outside however, we saw a group of girls laughing and pointing at Brooklyn.

I went to the crowd of them, and asked why they were laughing at her. One guy who had broad shoulders, a pointed jaw, green eyes, and dirty blonde hair showed me his phone, and there I saw a picture of her cuddling a teddy bear.

"What's so funny about that?"I asked, "she's sixteen and she still sleeps with a teddy bear," the boy replied. I shook my head and walked over to Brooklyn and told her the stupid reason on why they were laughing.

Brooklyn's eyes widened as saucers and she said, "that was the last thing my boyfriend gave me before he....", "before what"! "Before he died" she said as she fell to the ground and buried her head in her hands. I slowly went down with her and wrapped my arms around her.

"How did he die", I asked "we were taking a nice walk on a cliff, and then two men armed with guns pointed it to his head, they told him to jump off this cliff or else they would have shot me in the head". My face darkened,"he did it right", "yes he did and I will never forgive myself for it, because it was his life that he took for me, and once he did the men cackled and ran away leaving me to suffer".

I squeezed her hands, and lifted her up "I'm sorry that happened, but sometimes shit happens and we will move on some day, but we won't forget so don't worry". Brooklyn then laughed, and pulled me all the way to the grassy field behind the fence, but this time when we tried to hop over the fence we fell and rolled down the hill.

I noticed that real friends are the ones who you can act like a complete goofball in front of, without them caring cause they are too. I didn't have a friend like that, I had a Brooklyn and she was even better.
