Adora was soaked from running through the rain but she didn't care. She couldn't feel anything except for absolute rage. Her jeans were stuck tight to her legs, her hair matted down around her face. She hoped she looked as angry as felt. Catra's line played over and over in her head and she had tried and failed to let it go. She marched up to Catra's front door, curtesy of poor Bow who didn't understand the implications of sharing Catra's address. Adora banged loudly on the door.

"Catra!" She yelled. She banged again, trying to keep herself under the porch and out of the storm 3 feet away from her. She couldn't believe this was how the night ended up. Just 3 hour earlier she had taken Bow up on his offer to come see The Fright Zone on their usual Thursday night gig. She had tried to dress up for this one and wore heeled booties and tight jeans and her hair down for once in her life. She felt good and pretty and had been excited about the evening.

Drinks had been flowing all night but Adora tried to keep herself limited. She had unfortunately still not recovered from Sunday. That plus remembering the last Friday she worked after a night at Etheria. She shuddered at the thought. Even still, she was determined to have a fun time.

When the show started, Adora had made herself a part of the crowd and found her energy unmatched. She was a friend, a fan, and a little tipsy which made her feel on top of the world. Catra had emerged and Adora roared for her, seeing Catra blush at the attention. She looked amazing per usual. Scorpia stepped out in front of her and made eye contact with Adora who swiftly looked away. Scorpia looked nervous but seemed to take an internal breath. Catra grabbed her mic first. "What's up kittens?" The crowd cheered and Catra giggled. Adora cheered the loudest.

The Fright Zone played a few songs Adora already knew, and she was happy for a chance to sing along to them. Despite the fact that Adora had never been a part of The Fright Zone, she used to sing with Catra and Bow when they had hungout back in high school and even helped write some of their first songs. She was a surprisingly good singer and for a brief moment, she pictured it was her at that microphone and not Scorpia. She shook her head. Not a regret worth exploring right now.

By the time they got to their new song, Adora had forgotten why she had come here. To see the band, of course, but also because she had wanted to hear this. Adora knew some of the songs were about her but she was okay with it overall because she understood where those feelings were coming from. This one, though. This was a new song. And a part of Adora had hoped that maybe, just maybe, Catra didn't hate her anymore.

The song was titled, Howl, and Adora held her breath as Scorpia started singing, "I walked up to your house in the dark moonlight, held your hand in mind, and said oh dear it's time and then I howled. Oh yeah, baby I howled...Caught you in the rain as I held my breath, waited for you to whisper back but then my mind went black and you left me, fighting back in the worst way."

Catra joined in now, as Lonnie started adding soft howls to the beat, "So go ahead and leave again, I ain't the girl you know, I'm in the wolfpack now... Getting howls from a true match."

The crowd was eating it up, bopping to the beat and having a time. Adora felt her stomach sink. This was not a redemption song.

"and oh oh ohhh I howl." The crowd howled back. "Oh yeah baby howllll."

"You were never one to stick with the crowd, got your head to high and your ego loud. I stood on that cliff, with my pack intact, while you clung and yelled, from the edge you were trapped," Scorpia continued.

"When the wolf bites don't be afraid. No more could or would, you deserve that wreck of a bomb you withstood," Catra sang alongside, going into the chorus again and then singing a line that stopped Adora from listening further. "and if the night gets too dark for you, if you find a hand slipping, and a lack of what's true, just know, baby, that was entirely you. Just a self-made wolf meal ready to chew, no redemption arc for you."
