It's Always Been You | Hosie

Chapter 1

Hope Mikaelson woke up to her alarm clock which made her groan and then throwing it to the wall, making it the 50th alarm clock that she has destroyed this semester. Hope's never a morning person, mostly because she can't sleep well. "Well there goes another alarm clock. I really have to stop doing that" she sighed as she stood up from her bed to get ready.

"Hope?" a boy at the door knocked twice. Hope knew who it was just by his voice. "Landon, come in! but cover your eyes, I'm changing into the school uniform right now" she said as she continues to put her signature Salvatore grey school cardigan on. Landon slowly opened the door so no one in the hall can look into Hope's room. He quickly covered his eyes with his hands once he got in.

Hope took at least 5 minutes to get ready while Landon was standing by the door with his eyes covered. "Okay now you can look" Hope looked at him with a big smile and Landon returned the smile back. Landon walked over to Hope "Have I ever told you that you look really beautiful?" Hope tried not to blush and rolled her eyes with a smile "Every morning you do" Landon grabbed her by the waist closing the gap between them and kissed Hope. She gladly kissed him back until the bell rang which meant class was about to start.

Landon looked frustrated when the bell rang but Hope was fine with it. "I'll see you at lunch?" Hope said while getting her black doc martens boots from the shoe rack "Yeah, sure" Landon smiled then kissed Hope goodbye, as he was about to leave Hope's room.

After a few minutes, Hope was still putting her boots on when someone else knocked on the door. "Hey" the girl greeted Hope but she was still looking down finishing putting her boots on, as she stood up she saw Josie with a small smile.

"Hey Jo" Hope smiled back "Is everything okay?" Josie shook her head yes and said "Dorian just wanted to know if you're okay since class had already started like 10 minutes ago" Hope looked at the clock and felt annoyed that it took her awhile to tie up her boots "Oh crap, I was too busy trying to tie my shoes, I didn't even notice I was tying it for that long" Josie chuckled at Hope's reason. "Well, we can walk back together since we are in the same class and we'll make an excuse on the way so Dorian won't mark you tardy" Josie opened the door so Hope could leave the room first.

Both girls walked side by side down the hallway a little too close to the point where Hope's hand brushes on Josie's fingers once in a while but neither mind it. "So, I'm planning that you should use the 'sorry lady cramps' trick, worked well last time for Penelope" Josie said with a smile looking at Hope.

Hope looked to Josie and nodded "Sure, but I'm no Penelope though, considering she only used that excuse to have a little make out sesh with you" Hope smirked. Josie's cheeks went red when Hope mentioned that and nervously laughed it off. They both arrived at the Spell's Room and looked at each other nodding once in agreement that Hope will use the 'lady cramps' trick.

Josie went in the classroom first, which caught Dorian's attention, expecting Hope to come in. "Sorry I was late, I had lady cramps" Hope said while coming in and looking at Dorian with a sincere expression, earning a few chuckles from her classmates. "That's fine Hope, take a seat and find a partner, we'll be practicing spells today" Dorian said as he continued to write some spells on the board while Hope was still standing by the door, Josie looked at Hope and gave her a little wave across the room as she mouthed "Wanna be my partner?" Hope nodded as she walked towards the empty seat beside Josie.

"So, how's the lady cramps?" Josie said as Hope sat down next to her. "Hmm, it definitely feels better than it did this morning" Hope said with a hint of sarcasm following along the banter. Josie lightly laughed and continued to write down what Dorian was writing on the board. Hope did the same until Dorian said it was time for the activity. Josie and Hope knew that they don't actually have to do the activity because both girls were already ahead of their class. So in the meantime, they both just acted like they were doing spells while chatting.

"So how are you and Penelope?" Hope asked as she faked her hands doing a spell. "We're doing good, I guess" Josie said with a slight sad tone while copying Hope's hand movements. "You know Dorian will find out we're not actually doing spells if you keep following me" Hope said with a smile "True, but then again, he doesn't really care" Josie shrugged.

Hope could see that the question she asked got Josie in a bad mood. Hope stopped doing her hand movements and looked to Josie "Are you sure you guys are okay? I mean you can always talk to me about whatever, you know that right?" she gave a reassuring smile to Josie.

Josie nodded and asked "Can I talk to you about it during Lunch? We can go by the docks where no one's around so you can also talk about any thing you want, it can be our little not so secret rant space"  Hope loved the idea and replied "Sounds perfect". "Okay everyone, that's class for today, don't forget to keep practicing your spells and have a great day" Dorian waved to everyone while the students packed their things and left the room.

Josie and Hope left the room together knowing it was their only class together today, "I'll see you later?" Josie told Hope and Hope nodded with a smile "See you by the docks" Josie went left while Hope went right, on their way to their next class. While Josie walked to her class she couldn't help but look back to see Hope but she only saw a glimpse of Hope's back as she went downstairs for her next class. For some reason, Josie couldn't stop smiling at the fact that she'll see Hope by the docks later. She was happy that she finally has a friend that she can talk to, about her problems.
