Chapter 2

"Hey Jojo" Penelope hugged Josie from behind as she entered her next class, History. "Hi" Josie said with a smile and held Penelope's arm around her waist. "What are you doing here?" Josie asked as she turned around to face Penelope. "Your dad figured that I should move to your History class since I'm failing the advanced class and honestly I don't mind it as long as I'm with you" Penelope said with a sweet tone. Josie got flustered and kissed Penelope's cheek. "Well I'm glad you're here too" Josie held Penelope's hand and led her to one of the tables in the room. "Wanna sit with me?" Josie asked as she sat down, lightly tapping the empty chair next to her.

"Does that even have to be a question?" Penelope said as she quickly sat down, resting her head on her arm while admiring Josie. "Everyone, quickly find your seats because today I'm feeling a bit spontaneous so I'm creating a new seating chart and I don't want to hear any complaints" Mr. Ferro quickly said as he walked inside the room. Penelope got upset by the fact that she won't even get to sit by Josie in this class. "Well this is annoying, I can't even be with you" Penelope told Josie while she starts getting ready to move to a new table. Josie just gave Penelope an 'it'll be okay' look.

"Okay, so let's do this. Penelope Park and Landon Kirby you will be each other's partner for the rest of the semester and you will be sitting up here in the first row" Mr. Ferro said with a dramatic tone. "Are you kidding me? I get to sit with the burning bird" Penelope said as she rolled her eyes. Josie couldn't help but laugh. "Ms.Park, today is not the day to say rude things, so please will you just take your seat?" Mr.Ferro angrily pointed at her seat. Before Penelope walked to her new seat she kissed Josie on the cheek and said "Wish me luck".

Josie dramatically waved good bye to Penelope across the room. "Next, Josie Saltzman and oh looks like we have a new student, Finch Tarrayo, you'll be sitting in the second row" Josie got up and walked to her seat, wondering who this new-girl Finch is. Mr. Ferro continued assigning new seats to the rest of the class. "Hi, I'm Finch" holding out a hand for Josie to shake, "I'm Jo-" Finch interrupted Josie saying "Yeah, I know Josette Saltzman" she said with a smile. Penelope saw how long the two girls were shaking hands and looking at each other since she is just a row away from them. "Hi there, I'm Penelope Park, Josie's girlfriend" Penelope said, emphasizing the word girlfriend. "Hey, I'm Finch" as she said with a nervous tone giving Penelope a little wave.

"Now that everything's sorted, everyone sit down and stay quiet. Today, we're learning about the origins of black magic" Mr. Ferro said as he wrote down the word "Black Magic" on the board. While he was teaching Josie got curious about Finch. "So, where are you from?" Josie asked Finch quietly so they won't get in trouble "I'm from here, I used to go to Mystic Falls High but I never knew about this place till few days ago" Finch replied with the same tone while writing down the notes Mr.Ferro is putting on the board.

"Well how did you find out about this place?" Josie asked clearly intrigued by Finch's background. "How about I'll tell you about it at lunch, so there's less note taking while we talk" Finch chuckled and Josie nodded with a smile clearly forgetting that she'll be meeting Hope by the docks but before she could say anything else Penelope looked behind "If you don't stop flirting with my girlfriend, I'll gladly burn your hair off" giving Finch an innocent smile. "Penelope knock it off" Josie said with an annoying tone. "Sorry about that, she's not that mean ones you get to know her" Josie gave Finch a reassuring smile. "It's cool, I get it, you're really pretty and if you were my girlfriend I'd be threatening anyone who's flirting with you too" Finch gave Josie a wink.

Josie didn't say anything because of how uncomfortable she felt and Penelope clearly had enough of it and whispered a spell under her breath "Ignalusa" Finch's hair burned from the bottom but Josie quickly said "Adiuuatur" taking the fire out. "Oh my god, are you okay?" Josie checking to see if Finch got any burn marks "Penelope what the hell is wrong with you?" Josie raised her voice which made everyone in class look their way. "What? I told her if she doesn't stop I'll burn her hair and I always keep my promises" Penelope smirked. "Ladies, I want you three to stay after class, unless Mr.Kirby was involved in it too?" Mr. Ferro said as he pointed at Landon.
