"Jungkook, are you out of your mind?" Jin scolded as soon as Jungkook stepped into the house.

"What did I do?" Jungkook asked innocently, trying to gauge Jin's mood.

"Why is there a mortal girl unconscious in my bedroom? And why did Remi bring her? Where were you?" Jin's voice rose with each question, his concern palpable.

Jungkook glanced towards the couch where Remi lay peacefully, reverted to his original size. "Looks like Remi's already had his scolding," Jungkook thought, suppressing a smile. "He doesn't usually go back to his normal form so quickly."

"Geez, Jin Hyung really scared the little wolf," Jungkook mused silently, then faced Jin, knowing he had to explain.

"I'm waiting for an answer," Jin said, tapping his foot impatiently. As the eldest in their group, Jin felt responsible for everyone's well-being, and any trouble, especially involving a mortal girl injured under their care, could bring serious consequences.

Jungkook moved towards the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing a juice box. With a swift motion, he pierced the straw and took a sip, ignoring Jin's restlessness. "Rem found her," he began calmly. "I helped her. She was in danger, about to be attacked by some drunk men," he explained, meeting Jin's gaze directly. "You know I can't just ignore something like that."

Jin sighed heavily. "Do you know her?" he asked, trying to piece together the situation.

Jungkook nodded. "She's Mr. Choi's friend's daughter," he replied. "They're close," he added, his expression softening. "I couldn't leave someone dear to Mr. Choi in that situation."

"What did you do with those men?" Jin inquired, concern etched in his features.

"Is she alright?" Jungkook countered, his worry evident.

"Answer me first," Jin insisted firmly.

Jungkook sighed, acknowledging Jin's persistence. "I scared them off," he admitted. "Just a display, didn't lay a finger on them. They passed out when they saw my... unique abilities."

"You sure that's all?" Jin scrutinized Jungkook suspiciously.

Avoiding eye contact, Jungkook lowered his head slightly. "Trust me, Hyung. I didn't harm them."

Jin's brow furrowed in confusion. "Why would you want to harm them?" he questioned, taking a seat on a bar stool, visibly troubled. "She's not important, is she?"

Jungkook's demeanour shifted, a hint of defeat in his voice as he looked up at Jin. "Jin Hyung," he began softly, locking eyes with him, conveying more in that gaze than words could express.

Jin's eyes widened in realization. "Are you sure?" he asked urgently.

"Yes," Jungkook affirmed simply, a sombre acknowledgement hanging between them.

Jin rubbed his temples wearily. "This is serious, Jungkook," he said gravely. "Do you understand what this means?"

"I do," Jungkook replied solemnly, his voice tinged with apprehension. "The curse," he added, his gaze steady and determined. "But I won't let her suffer again, even if it means defying my father. Curse or no curse, I won't lose her."

Jin nodded, his expression softening with pride mixed with concern. "You know I'm always on your side," he reassured Jungkook sincerely.

"I know, Jin Hyung," Jungkook acknowledged gratefully. "That's why I brought her here—to you."

They lapsed into silence, a rare moment of calm before the storm they both sensed approaching.

"Can I see her?" Jungkook asked eventually, breaking the silence as he turned towards the stairs.

"Yes, but you'll need to explain a lot," Jin cautioned, standing up from the stool.

"I was hoping to keep her away from all of this, for as long as possible," Jungkook admitted quietly.

"I hope so too, but she deserves to know," Jin replied gently. "Just don't wait too long to tell her, alright?" he advised, his tone filled with concern for both Jungkook and Hana.

Jungkook nodded, silently grateful for Jin's understanding and support. Making his way towards Jin's room, he felt a weight lifted knowing he could trust his brother with Hana's safety and their delicate situation. Jin was always calm and collected, qualities Jungkook admired and relied on.

Entering the room quietly, Jungkook half-expected to find Hana still resting. To his surprise, the bed was empty. A moment of panic gripped him before he spotted her on the balcony, gazing out at the city lights.

"You gave me a scare," Jungkook admitted as he sat beside her, offering a warm smile.

Hana returned his smile gently. "Sorry, and thank you," she replied softly. "I don't know what I would have done..."

"You're safe now," Jungkook assured her earnestly, his concern evident.

"The view from here is incredible. Where are we?" Hana asked, seeking distraction from the events of the night.

"This is my brother's place," Jungkook explained. "He has a taste for luxury," he added with a hint of amusement, glad to see Hana's spirits lift.

"Aren't you going to ask me more questions?" Jungkook ventured, curious about her thoughts.

Hana hesitated briefly before answering. "I want to, but sometimes it's better not to know," she replied honestly, shrugging slightly. "Some things are easier to keep to myself."

"I understand," Jungkook murmured, respecting her decision.

Just then, Jungkook heard Remi padding up the stairs. For a moment, he forgot that Hana didn't know about Remi's true form. Reality crashed back in, reminding him of the secrets he couldn't keep from her any longer.

Looks like it's time to reveal a few more truths.
