(TW: Blood)

You had no idea how much time had passed in the meantime. If you were honest with yourself, you didn't care either. The whole day you sat in this cart, hardly got anything to eat and accordingly looked quite emaciated and were just tired and exhausted.

Since you were this man's slave, you didn't dare to even close your eyes for fear that he might do something to you.

The cold winter air that swept across the land, enveloping everything in its chill, didn't really make it any better. You were freezing cold and wished that you would soon arrive somewhere where you could warm up.

That your prayers were then really even heard, surprised you quite. Because, after the dawn had set and the sun slowly sank behind the horizon, you noticed the small village, which spread out before you. The whole burden of the last days fell from your shoulders and relief spread in your body. You had never looked forward so much to seeing other people, even though you usually avoided the presence of people.

However, as you got closer to the village, you noticed all the chaos and devastation. 'What on earth had happened here?'

Everywhere the walls of the buildings were destroyed, sometimes there were even whole holes in the walls. On the muddy ground lay wildly scattered food or other things that a person needed to survive.

Everything was so desolate that it almost scared you a little. Who knew how long this village had been so destroyed. 'How long ago was it that people lived here?' But all this chaos still looked too new and fresh to have been there for several years.

For some reason, you couldn't shake the feeling that you were being followed by something or someone. That's why you looked around carefully every time you heard a new rustle from the bushes or the crack of a branch. But there was nothing to be seen.

'Strange. I'm not imaging all this, am I?'

The horses pulling the wagon also seemed nervous, because their movements were slow and ponderous, always careful not to take a wrong step.

„You stupid horses!" the old man hissed angrily, tugging at the reins until the horses came to a stop. It was already late and you could imagine that you should have come much further than you actually were, but it seemed that you would have to rest in this deserted village.

With all the chains around your joints, it was pretty difficult to get out of the cart. The fact that the old man was also pulling on them, so that your air was briefly cut off, didn't make it any better.

You were treated like a felon, but what did you expect? As a Slave, you were a nobody. You just vegged out and let any humiliation and impositions wash over you, because that was the only thing that kept you alive and no matter how desperate you were: Somehow everyone hung on to their lives.

The ground was completely soaked from all the snow and rain, so the mud stuck to your shoes. But that was your least problem. The man's grip on your chains tightened a bit and he tugged on them so that you lost your balance and fell into the mud.

At that moment you would have liked to just lie there, because you were so exhausted. Your legs felt heavier with every step, soon they wouldn't be able to carry your weight anymore.
Nevertheless, you had to grit your teeth and hold on.

Slowly you stood up again and stopped when you heard another noise. This time, however, it was nothing natural like the rustling of leaves in the wind. Someone or something had knocked something over. The uneasy feeling in your stomach area became stronger and stronger. You didn't want to be here.

„You stupid brat" the man said annoyed and he pulled you further behind him to one of the huts. As soon as you went up the stairs to the door, you saw the immense pool of blood that had spread across the porch. 'What the hell happened here? Why is there so much blood?'
