Agony. Something you always wanted to protect your family from. And right now it was the cries of your brother, filled with pain, that did not let you sleep. Who knew what Bela, Cassandra and Daniela were doing to him in this moment.
There was an inner conflict in you. On the one hand, you wanted to protect John, because he belonged to your family, despite everything that had happened, but on the other hand, he had chosen his own fate. He was the one who invaded Lady Dimitrescu's castle, threatened her and her daughters, and then tried to kill her servant. He tried to kill you.
'You brainless idiot! Why did you have to come here?'
And then there was another question that wouldn't let you rest. That kiss... It had meant everything to you, but what had Lady Dimitrescu felt? Was it all just a Game? Would she, once she had enough of you, push you away like all the other servants before you?
She had promised you a conversation, but you were afraid of it. You were afraid of being disappointed and having to live with the knowledge that you were nothing more than a stupid toy and a useless servant for her.
„Oh, you're awake."
You were so deep in thought that you hadn't even noticed the door open and Lady Dimitrescu enter. In her hand she held a candlestick which made her silver-pale skin shimmer through the little light.
And again she was unmistakably beautiful, even if you couldn't see everything of her.
„Is everything all right dear?"
Lady Dimitrescu approached the bed and placed the candlestick on a small table. Her look at you was gentle, but you could also see the great anger in her eyes that she was trying so hard to hold back.
„Yes, Lad- I mean Alcina."
You still couldn't quite believe you were allowed to call her by her first name.
„It's just... I've been thinking a lot lately. About my brother, about that kiss and about how to continue."
Honesty always fought back the longest, and if there was one thing you learned during your time here as Lady Dimitrescu's right hand, it was that she couldn't stand lies.
Your gaze was lowered, your face red with shame and your heart beating fast in fear. Now there would be no turning back.
„Oh my dear little one. You should stop worrying your head about such things. Look at me."
You immediately recognized the command in her tone and obeyed. Your eyes met and triggered another wave of emotions in you. The sparkle in her eyes was like the starry sky. Beautiful and pure and you would have liked to never look anywhere else.
„The kiss, it was a gift from me to you, for all you've done for me" she began after settling on her bed.
„I have been alone in this castle for a long time and even if I'm surrounded by my dear daughters, I also wished to find the missing peace that would bring me my happiness. I don't deserve anything of this and yet I enjoy your company. You are refreshing for me, for this castle, I can't explain it. Your blood puts me in ecstasy like no other before and I want you to stay with me. My dear, Y/N stay with me and become mine. Be my missing piece of the puzzle."
Lady Dimitrescu's hands were holding your face, gently stroking your cheeks. One look was enough and you knew she meant it. Every single word was honest and without lie.
The feeling of floating on clouds filled you, the gentle touch of your mistress and her wish made you smile. „I will."
Nothing more needed to be said. Almost all your worries were blown away. But only almost.
