「4」𝑇𝑟𝑢𝑡ℎ

As soon as the warm sunlight shine through the large windows and grazed your skin, you slowly opened your eyes. What time was it?

With a yawn, you sat up in bed to stretch. The bed you were given was really incredible. Never in your life had you been able to sleep so well.

However, when you looked at the clock, you got quite a fright. Your shift was about to start and you weren't even done yet. If the lady found out, there would be a lot of trouble. Especially since it was just your first day and you had promised not to disappoint her.

You jumped out of bed like a fury and went to the bathroom to get dressed. You wanted to put on your work clothes, but that turned out to be more difficult than you had imagined. 'Please don't let anyone know about me being late. I'm so screwed' you thought to yourself, and quickly tied your shoes before storming out of the room.

You hadn't had time to look around this huge building yet, and you didn't know where to go now, but you would go and search of other servants first. One of them would probably be able to tell you where you would be assigned.

While you were looking for help, you could take a closer look at the castle. It was really quite magnificent and shone with wealth and noble furniture. Lady Dimitrescu Must be quite a Rich Person, when you took a closer look at everything.

„You look pretty lost, maybe I can help you?"

A womanly and friendly voice drew you attention, so you stopped and turned to the person who was talking to you.

The woman was a young girl about your age, but maybe a little older. Her ash blonde hair was tied into a bun, but some strands fell into her face. Her eyes were blue like the sea, but marked by sadness and despair, which she tried to cover.

„Yes, I am Y/N and new here. Where exactly should I start?" you asked, scratching the back of your Headlines embarrassment at standing here so haphazardly.

The girl across from you smiled slightly and gestured for you to follow her. „Come with me, if you want you can help me scrub the floor." She pointed to the bucket in her right hand. This offer came in handy for you, because since you didn't know your way around yet, you could ask the girl, whiners still a stranger, in case of need. Otherwise, you would certainly get lost in this huge building.

„My name is Adelle by the way, and I haven't been working here very long either..." the blonde began to speak after you walked down a long hallway. Quietly she added:"But I've been here long enough for my taste."

Of course, this statement confused you. Why did Adelle want to leave so soon, when she had just gotten a job here? It didn't make any sense.
Before you could as anything, though, Adelle put the water in your hand. „Well make yourself useful, newbie."

With a nod, you settled down on the floor and began to clean and scrub it properly. Every now and then, you raised your eyes to Adelle, but she was completely focused on her work and was already much further along than you. It was also kind of clear, by now she certainly had an idea of how it works.

Suddenly an insect, a fly to be exact, landed on your hand. Then you heard a whole swarm of flies next to you. „What the...?!" You didn't get a chance to finish your sentence, because out of the swarm of flies, a human figure formed.

The woman standing in front of you was wearing a long black dress and a hood that made her look threatening. She also had long blonde hair and dried blood hanging from her chin.

She stared at both of you and giggled. „Oops, you forgot there something" she said and pushed the bucket of water over so that everything ran out.
