Abhimaan's stay in the kingdom of Suryagargh was extended. Aditya, the king intended to build a new palace and what's better than taking the opinions of the King of Maheswar. He always had big interests in arts and architecture, the proof of it was the splendour Palace that he built for himself.
Due to his stay, his meetings with Sandhya were also very frequent. He enjoyed her company very much, he finds himself confiding in her during the dark hours of the night. She was the first woman who was able to keep his interest for so long, she was like a forbidden fruit the more he had her, the more he craved for her.
As the night fell, Sandhya waited for Abhimaan in his chamber. She has taken a liking to him. She cherishes the few moments she gets to spend with him per day.
She finds herself happy and not cursing her fate while they are together. She always hated the fact that she was born in a brothel. It was her bad luck. Whenever she stepped outside in world outside the brothel people looked down at her as if she was a piece of trash. They throw her out of the temple and not serve her when she goes to the market.
But, albeit Abhimaan knew who she was and with the immense power he held, he always treated her with respect and this made Sandhya very happy.
But she also knew that all of this is temporary. Soon the king will leave to his own kingdom and she will be long forgotten.
The guards outside the room announced the arrival of the king. Sandhya got up and bowed her head down as he entered the room.
A smile erupted on Abhimaan's face as he saw his favorite person awaiting for him.
"Sandhya." He called walking towards her. She looked up at him with her beautiful and mysterious eyes that yet had some shyness in them.
She smiled lightly and took a few steps as well, the sounds of her anklets echoing in the room.
"Welcome, Maharaj." She said placing her hands on his chest and shyly looking at him.
Suddenly Abhimaan's expressions was covered by an angry frown that made her back away. The fury in his eyes scared her.
His jaw was clenched and his hands turned into a fist. Sandhya kept walking backwards and Abhimaan took predatory steps towards her. Fear was all that she was feeling.
A gasp left her mouth as she was backed up against the wall. She swallowed the lump in her throat and asked.
"Di-Did I do-something wrong?" Sandhya asked.
Abhimaan raised his hand and Sandhya flinched and shut her eyes tightly. But she relaxed when Abhimaan placed his hand gently on her cheeks.
"Do you think I'd hit you?" He asked feeling hurt.
"I-No, It's-" She stuttered.
"Who did this?" He asked in a little harsh tone, caressing her cheek that had a red handprint on it.
"It-it's nothing." Sandhya said quickly and turning away but was stopped as Abhimaan caged her between him and the wall.
"Sandhya!" He warned in a threatening tone.
"As I was coming here to the palace a man approached me and tried touching me but when I did not gave in to his advances, he-he chastised me."
