Hope POV

  I felt his lips on mine and his hands on my back. They roamed my back but I was frozen and I couldn't do anything. My arms were stuck to my side and I needed to do something. I didn't want his mouth on mine. I heard a gasp and I opened my eyes and immediately pushed him away. His pout was replaced by a triumphant smirk.

"What the fuck, Hope." "I-it's not what you think Penny." She scoffs and says, "After I bared my heart for you yesterday and comforted you today this is how you repay me?" I open my mouth to say something but she cuts me off. "You know what, fuck you, Hope" and she walks away. My heart splintered at that moment as I watched her walk away. Each step away from me another piece of my heart shattered and fell into an abyss. I start to follow her but I hear a snicker and I turn around. My face contorts into a sneer. "What the fuck was that Landon."

10 hours earlier

   I smiled at the sight of Penelope sleeping on me. Apparently, Penelope's scared of planes so she opted to sit on my lap. She looked adorable and I just stared at her perfect face. I absentmindedly played with her silky hair. We only had 1 hour left until we got back to Mystic Falls and I dreaded the moment when I had to wake her up. Josie was sitting next to us and we were playing truth or truth which is basically just asking each other questions that you would have to answer. We didn't go too deep in thought we just asked simple questions which I liked. She didn't push for answers like her dad or sister. I liked that about her and recently that pull I felt when we first met had become stronger. But I'm dated Penelope so I need to ignore that feeling, but it's just so strong. We played the whole ride back and when we got back I set my plan in motion. I leaned down and peppered Penelope's face with kisses. Her face scrunched up cutely and her eyes flickered open. "Stop, stop," she giggled. My plan worked. Distract Penelope with kisses so she won't be cranky. 

Time skip to when they get to the school

   In light of Josie's recent breakup, Penelope and I decided to cheer her up by having a girls' day out. We went to the Mystic Grill first and got a table outside. It was pretty empty seeing as it was 8:00 in the morning. "I just don't get why he would break up with me. I thought we were in a good position in our relationship," Josie said with a pout. "Well, Josie boys are fucking stupid, which is why I'm lesbian because girls are just better," Penelope deadpanned. I laugh at that statement. "I'm not religious but amen to that Penny." We all erupt in a fit of laughter and I hold my sides. We couldn't stop laughing. We would calm down but we would make eye contact and then just fall into laughter. I noticed passing people giving us a few weird stares but I didn't care. This day was for Josie and nothing would ruin that.

   "Actually, I agree with you, Penny. Boys are fucking stupid and horrible. I actually have experience with a horrible boy. What about you Penny?" She shakes her head and just says, "I don't have experience but I don't need it, I don't need a reason. Just women are enough for me." I laugh but somber up when I think of Roman. My smile faded quickly and a sneer replaced it. The happy feeling leaving my body. Josie noticed and asked, "Are you okay Hope? Is it that boy you're talking about?" I swallow hard and just nod. "His name was Roman Augustus Sienna, and he ruined my life." I hear them both gasp and I look up at them. "What?" "Does he by chance have short brown curly hair, brown eyes, and gives off rich vibes?" "Yes, how did you know that." They both squirmed around without looking at me. "He maybegoestotheSalvatoreSchool." Penelope's words come out hushed and quickly but I still hear her perfectly clear. "What." My voice is low and they both look up. I take a deep breath and say, "It's fine, as long as I don't see him I'll be fine. Besides, it's Josie's day. Where do you want to go next?" She shrugs and says, "Can we just walk back to school?" Penelope and I agree and we take a leisurely walk back.  Once we get back Lizzie steals Josie for some twin bonding time. That leaves Penelope and me in our dorm room. We sit in silence until she speaks.
