"Perfect Moment"

Penelope POV

I wake up to the sound of rain pattering against the window opening my eyes. I check the time on my phone. 11:27 a.m. I feel the arms wrapped around me move and I'm pulled tighter against her chest. "Rain wake you up?" Hope mumbles. I shift in her arms and turn around to face her. "Mhmm," I hum, resting my face on her chest. I feel her fingers running up and down my spine and I sigh contently. This perfect moment being etched into my brain forever. Smiling, I tuck myself further into her chest and fall back asleep to the background noise of rain.

When I awake again I reach out for Hope only to find empty space. I crack my eyes open and look around the room, trying to adjust to the light. "Hope?" My voice comes out raspy and husky. I'm about to get out of bed when the door opens. "No, no, no don't get out of bed." Hope comes in holding a tray with various plates and bowls of food. "I was trying to bring you breakfast in bed." I smile at how thoughtful Hope is. She walks over to me and places the tray on my lap. I look down and see a plate of pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries, a bowl of oranges, and a plate of these fluffy pastries with white powder on them. I point at the plate and ask, "What are these Hope?" She looks at me shocked. "You've never had a beignet?" I shake my head and she just looks at me with her mouth open. She picks one up and holds it in front of my mouth. "Open your mouth." I comply and she gently places it in my mouth. I almost moaned at the taste.

"Oh my god. This tastes heavenly." She nods and she keeps feeding me. We talk and eat for a while and when I look at the time it's about 1:00. "So you wanna show me around the city my little wolf?" She tilts her head at the nickname. "My dad used to call me that." "Oh, I can um change it i-" "No, it's okay. I actually like it." I nod and smirk at her. "Okay, my little wolf, where shall we go today?" "Well, I actually have somewhere in mind. But you do need to change, although your pajamas are really cute." I laugh at her and get out of bed. I stretch before walking over to my suitcase. I pick out a navy blue skirt with a white blouse and navy blue jacket. I change in front of Hope not really caring what she saw. But I smirk smugly at her reaction. She's blushing furiously and she looks away. I put it on and walk quietly over to Hope. I hug her from behind and say in her ear, "I'm done." She turns around and stands up. Her face is still tinted pink and she tries to avoid staring at me. We walk to the door and make our way out and into the city.

She slips her hand into mine and she leads me down the street and into a little bar. There's a blue sign that says "Rousseau's" in big white bold letters. "Hope, why are we in a bar?" "Well, I thought since you're my girlfriend you should know more about me and my past." She holds her hand out and gestures to the bar. "This place is like a second home for me. I've made a lot of memories here, and I wanted to add some memories. Hopefully memories with you in them." She looks down shyly and I smile at how cute she is. "Alright, how about you add this to your memories." I grab her outstretched hand and pull her in front of me. I slide my hand around her waist and pull her in. Our lips meet and she melts into the kiss. At this moment, I don't care whether people are looking or not. All I care about is how Hope makes me feel when she's close. It becomes hard to breathe, where she touches me, my skin tingles and burns, my heartbeat rises and becomes erratic. But when she kisses me it feels like the rest of the world falls away and it's just us in our own little world.

We pull away to catch a breather and we grab a table. We sit and she starts talking about some stories of her family. She talks about how her father was so different than how the stories portrayed him, and her mother was so brave and courageous. From hearing her stories I learned that her family might seem cruel to others, they would die for each other. I'm happy that she grew up with a family like that but I couldn't help but feel envious of her. Her family would do anything for her but my family would throw me in front of a train if they had a chance. I push those thoughts away and continue to listen to Hope. We talk for a while before she realizes how long we've been here. We stand up and head out but before we leave I want to do something. "Hope, can you wait outside I need to use the bathroom." She nods and I walk over to the bar.
