Title: Dean and... Dean?

Pairing: Dean x reader

Word Count: ~4,000

After saving Mary and Jack from apocalypse world, the group begins their journey back to their world by jumping through other universes. The closer they get to their own world, the more similar the world is to their own. Finally, they reach the final world before their arrival home: a genderbent world with an angry (and lonely) female version of Dean.

DEAN's POV

Universe hopping. That's what he called it. Jack was leading us home, jumping from universe to universe, trying to make it back to our world. After all he and mom went through in Apocalypse world, he was  too weak to get all of us straight back. However, creating smaller rifts between closely related universes didn't overuse his powers. Plus, some of the universes had alternate versions of Jack to give us more power.

"Only 5 more miles to the bunker," mom said, breathing heavily from the weight of the duffle bag filled with weapons slung over her shoulder. I took the bag, slinging it over my own shoulder as we continue, swatting her hands away when she tried to take it back from me.

"Like you said, only 5 miles left," I warned her against trying to take the bag back. And I'm not the one who just spend months in an apocalyptic wasteland. You deserve the rest. I smiled as she nodded graciously and slowed down to take up the rear alongside Sammy.

...

Sam opened the door, ushering us all inside and shutting it behind him. "Okay, so far so good," he muttered quietly.

I threw my bags down on the library table, turning to face the others as the sound of a gun safety clicking off sounded from behind a nearby bookshelf.

"Who the Hell are you," her voice yelled angrily. For a woman, she sounded... gruff. Hardened. It was almost... familiar.

"All of you, hands in the air and turn the fuck around," she yelled again, closer this time. We turned as she continued speaking.

Her long y/h/c hair was pulled into a loose bun on the top of her head. She was dressed pretty much the way I would dress: torn jeans, a simple black t-shirt, and a red and black flannel.

"Does someone want to tell me how the hell you got in my-" her voice cut off abruptly when her gorgeous green eyes landed on mom. "M-mom?" she almost whispered, tears forming in her eyes.

"What?" Mary looked wildly between Sam and I as the girl enveloped her in a bone-crushing hug.

"Excuse me miss," Jack said politely. "I believe you have the wrong woman. This is Mary Winchester, and these are her sons, Sam and Dean," he gestured to Sammy and I.

"I know her name, kid. She's my mom," the beautiful woman said as she pulled a photo from her wallet. It was identical to the photo I had in my wallet, the one of mom holding me as a young child. Only in her photo, mom was holding a young girl with y/h/c hair, green eyes, and freckles like mine. "You... you're supposed to be dead," she whispered softly as mom smiled back at her.

"What's your name?" Sammy asked as I pulled my photo out of my wallet, holding it up next to hers. We both stared at the photos, and I could see her shoulders tense at the similarity.

"Wait, how the Hell..." she looked between the two photos, confused. "Y/n," she said softly as she turned to face me. "Y/n Winchester."

Y/N's POV

Dean, Sam, Jack, and mom... well, Mary, explained this whole 'universe hopping' thing to me. It took a few glasses of whiskey to wrap my head around it, but in this line of work, anything is possible. I'd be idiotic to be skeptical.
