Remember Me

The night was quite exhausting, at least for ordinary people and others without determination, unlike you. Your training could not wait any more seconds after spending the whole day without paying attention to the conditioning of your body, especially when such an important test was approaching, this being nothing more than the balance test. The use of the three-dimensional device would be one of the things that you would need to get used to from now on, now it did not depend only on your handling with swords, but on your agility and your quick thinking. Just imagining yourself flying through the air and chopping up titans already brought excitement to your mind, you needed a little action in your routine, not to mention how much you would be doing others a favor by saving them from having to worry with threats from outside the walls.

Or maybe it was just because of how much you wanted to destroy those creatures out of old-fashioned grudge...

One way or another, you needed to be ready for when the time came. For this reason, many hours passed in the morning while you performed your exercise session incessantly and focused on your balance by using only two fingers of your right hand to keep in contact with the floor, leaving your lower body up and the left arm behind your back. You needed to stay in this position for as long as possible, trying hard not to move even an inch to keep from failing.

Many would think, if they saw you right now, that you were completely crazy to push yourself to that point just to be sure of the test. But the truth is that the words you had heard in the camp cafeteria had really affected you, that bastard had made you question many things about yourself, including your ability to really be able to be a worthy soldier. He said that as if he saw you as absolutely nothing, even less than that, that was the view that cowardly people had of you.

That was not fair... You, among everyone there, were the one who deserved the most respect. Nobody trained as hard as you did until the bones almost cracked or the muscles reached the point of tearing by such intensity, only you knew the meaning of having real strength there. To hear someone say otherwise was simply absurd.

But what if there was a little bit of truth in that...?

Were you really fighting only for the collective good? Or was it because of your ego?

Just thinking about it a lot gave you a headache.

"Let's see who's going to tremble in the end..." you muttered angrily, gritting your teeth tightly.

The sun's rays of dawn were already appearing on the horizon little by little, creating the shadow of your figure balanced in the same position, being a warning to stop when you return with your lower body down. Removing your fingers from the ground, you snapped them against your chin, shaking them with a slight numbness.

You were quite satisfied with the result, even though you were sweating a little and had excessive muscle pain, it was worth every second of your effort.

"Now this is what I call training" you smiled from the corner of your lips to yourself, approaching one of the nearby wooden benches and picking up your white cloth over one of them to wipe your face slowly.

In the meantime, you could barely notice Armin's presence by watching you from a distance, extremely surprised to see you awake as early as he and the rest of the camp. He hurried over to where you were, almost stumbling on the way.

"(Y / N)! What are you doing ?! I thought you were resting for the test...!" he was visibly concerned, shaking your shirt a little in the process.

You laughed quietly, holding his hands.

"I thought it best to be on my guard, I don't want to breach any mistakes today" you said as if you hadn't been awake all this time, smiling slightly.
