"Please deliver this gold to each local farmer," I requested my guards. "I believe they have well earned it with their hard work to grow food and allow me to use it for the feast tonight."
"Mommy!" I hear my sweet daughter call out. She ran up and hugged me.
"Hello my dear Freya, how are you?" I asked with a bright smile as I knelt to face her.
"I've brought you this drawing!" She handed me a paper with a messy drawing of a man on it. "See it's daddy like from your necklace!"
I fought back tears so she didn't get upset. "Oh thank you, darling. I'll hang it in my room." I smiled and tucked her hair behind her ears. "Speaking of my necklace I think it's about time I give it to you." I removed my locket and put it around her neck. "It is your fifth birthday after all, and I know how much it means to you."
She beamed up at me. "Thank you, mama! Thank you so much!"
Just then my brother Loki walked in. "Ah, there you are my dear!" He grinned as he approached us. "What say you and I have a game of hide n' seek."
"Okay, Uncle Loki! I'll hide first.!" She ran off as Loki covered his eyes and began counting.
He paused his counting and peeked through his fingers to make sure she had gone. His grin dropped and he turned to me. "Any word yet brother?" I asked.
"No, I'm sorry we still have not had a return from Bucky." He informed me.
"Well, I don't understand why you can't just go to Midgard and bring him to me." I became frustrated.
"Sister you know he would not leave with me without a fight, and I think the last thing you want is a fight between the Avengers and myself again." He informed me. "I would send Thor but as you may remember he's on Midgard with his love, Miss Jane, and requested that we not contact him."
"I know. He just means so much to her and he doesn't even know that she exists." I sighed. "I hate to see her become more and more excited over a man that may never return to me."
"We shall get ahold of him sister. Worry not, Freya will meet her father" he placed his arm around me then began to walk away. "Now sister I must go, that daughter of yours surely takes after me and is quite sneaky when it comes to hiding."
I smiled as he ran off to find her. I felt awful for my daughter. My brother had me coronated in such a rush, with Thor now on Midgard he couldn't be king, and Loki wished not to take the birthright from me as he's adopted. I never even got the chance to tell Bucky about our child. I wished I could leave and visit him and introduce my Freya to her father but I needed to follow my royal duties, which meant I needed to sit and hope for the best. I had written him letters, many of them, all speaking of Freya but it seemed as if he never got them.
