"I need a prophecy."
"Pay the fee." A jingle sounded when the second one spoke.
"I'm a God!"
"Pay the fee." The jingle came again.
"I can Smite you!"
"Pay the fee." Jingle jingle.
"Fine."
"The fee is five poppies. Bright red. Blood red." Jingle jingle jingle.
The first voice grumbled and exited the cave of the oracle of chaos.
The oracle smiled, as he fidgeted with a small compass in his hand.
"Everything will fall into place," The oracle spoke, the small song rang through the cave again, "And you will come back."
By the time that the god came back, the sun started to dip in the sky.
"I only have so much time, get this over with." The god grumbled. He was impatient, to say the least.
"Patience," The oracle teased. He knew the god wouldn't have the guts to smite the oracle. If he did, there would be extreme repercussions.
"Just tell me the prophecy. I need to know what to do to bring peace." The god's eyes glanced at each side of the cave.
The oracle smirked. Peace was a hilarious thing. Peace would only come to the world if the gods found their place in their own world. None of them knew their place, surprisingly, yet there was a peace that was missing. It could make everything fall into place. For the oracle and the world.
"The world is in ruin, but don't fear.
The god of chaos is coming near.
Everything will fall into place
But don't treat it like a race.
When three gods get out of their comfort zone,
And when another stops feeling alone,
Then the pieces will come into play
The god of Chaos will bring a new day."
"HOW WOULD CHAOS HELP THE WORLD?" The god screamed at the oracle, "YOU MADE ME COME ALL THIS WAY FOR THAT? THAT DOESN'T HELP ME!"
The oracle's smile grew, "No, you just don't have the right pieces for the puzzle." The jingle rang through the tension.
"THIS WAS A SCAM." The god yelled, "HOW DARE YOU SCAM ME." He stormed out of the cave.
The oracle chuckled.
"The god of chaos is coming soon,
A child form, running through.
The gods will find they're more than they thought,
A hero with a soft spot.
The god of Chaos isn't bad
The son is coming, give him all he should have."
Jingle Jingle.
---19 years later---
"Come and catch me!" The boy raced through the market.
"YOU GET BACK HERE THIEF!" Yelled a man in a neon green robe and a white mask.
A strange laugh came out of the fourteen-year-old's mouth. The Dream Priest wouldn't be getting him today.
He jumped into a large pipe, evading the Dream Chat and their leader.
He looked down at the necklace in his hands, one he stole from their pile of offerings to their god, Dream. Tommy didn't believe in the gods, and "never" will.
"Kid!" The followers, called chat, wandered around. They were searching vigorously for him. He had to keep moving.
He crawled through the large pipe, leading him to the edge of town. The pipe was abandoned and was cleaned by the boy himself. He made a system throughout the city that he could travel through easily. It was a maze, yet he already memorized the paths that he etched.
At the edge of the town, there was a forest. That was where the boy lived, a shack in the forest. He called it his castle. He was the king in his kingdom and no "god" could change that.
Meanwhile, the Dream Priest, as Tommy called it, walked up to the temple of his god, Dream. Dream was the king of the gods, with the largest chat. The real name of the "Dream Priest" was the King's Follower. It was a position many people wanted but only one could get it.
"My god!" the King's Follower called out, "There is a problem in your city!" The King's Follower could communicate with his King, as long as he didn't worship any of the other gods. He can believe in them, but cannot follow them.
"Yes?" echoed a voice through the now empty temple. The King's Follower already directed everyone out, few were allowed to hear his king's voice. And boy, was it a majestic voice.
"There is a boy who-"
"Don't tell me you came to me for something so petty?" The god called out.
"No sir!" The King's Follower responded, "He has nonstop stolen from your offerings and somehow slips away every time! He is a nonbeliever and thinks this city is his. He may be a minor threat, but he is a threat nonetheless." The King's Follower winced, he felt that he couldn't explain the problem well enough as not to be lectured for coming for something 'small'.
"I have seen your problem and I agree," The King's Follower perked up, maybe their problem will be solved, "I will send in enforcements. Hopefully, it will be enough to keep this boy in check." The King's Follower nodded enthusiastically, glad he wasn't going to die tonight.
"Now leave me to find the answer," The King commanded, and his follower listened, closing the door behind him.
