❝I found out finding out isn't the worst part
Don't believe it's just me
And I've found out
Do you really even have a clue?❞-We Are The In Crowd, Both Sides Of The Story
The next day it was almost as if nothing ever happened. That is, if you didn't count the many Dementors surrounding the castle... The next day at breakfast Dumbledore announced the Dementors were going to be guarding Hogwarts just in case the Gorgon incident happened to almost take place again. Most younger kids were relieved, as they thought the Dementors were there for good reason, although the older students knew better. If Dementors were guarding Hogwarts then they would be guarding Hogsmeade and that means Hogwarts was no longer that safe anymore.. The Marauders were worried about what would happen as they were nearing their last years at the magic school and would soon be deciding their jobs around the wizarding world. Most of the Marauders dreamed of being Aurors, a very dangerous position, even for experienced wizards like Mad Eye Moody. The rest of the school year was starting to become more of some vanilla based days, as the rest of the school relied on the fun pranks of the Marauders to make Ancient Runes or Charms less boring. Little did they know, this school year would be anything but boring.
When free period rolled around many people were surrounding the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, whispering harshly and arguing. Iris walked over, curious as to what was going on and instantly regretted it when she saw what was on the paper. The headline broadcasted "Hogwarts No Longer Safe?" In eye catching bold with a moving picture of the Gorgon on the side. Iris shivered, the face was still as horrifying as it was before. Then, a certain ginger caught her eye and she looked over at Lily who gave her a disgusted look in return as she passed Iris. Iris rolled her eyes and kept walking to the common room.
Later that night, the Gryffindors had free period and the Marauders decided to have a meeting in the Astronomy tower.
"What are we going to do Prongs?" "Nothing Padfoot!" "Guys, We have to do something!" "No we don't Moony!" The Marauders argued about the night before, trying to figure out what happened until Sirius came up with a splendid idea. "Iris was there right? Why doesn't she tell us?" Sirius announced, causing all the boys to look at Iris expectantly "No! I can't- It's to bad!" Iris cried as she scrambled a couple feet away. "C'mon Beau! If we do this we can catch the Gorgon! You know they never found it! It's probably still in the castle!" Sirius bellowed as Iris's eyes grew wider and she started breathing rapidly, thinking of all the things that could go wrong in vivid detail. "She's having a panic attack!" Remus yelled in panic as the boys surrounded her, "Make her hold her breath!" Sirius cried as his brain searched for a way to make her hold her breath. Then, a brilliant idea came to Remus and he pressed his lips to hers and she held her breath in shock, grateful that Remus would go to such lengths to save her.
But what she didn't know is that a certain Marauder was not impressed.
