❝You're worth losing my self-esteem
Your clever words mean nothing more to me
Than a lot I've heard in a movie
You're worth losing my, losing my, losing my self-esteem
You're not worth putting myself in these situations❞
-Forever The Sickest Kids, Whoa Oh!
It's been a week since Remus even spared a glance at Iris. Although Iris was still madly in love with James she couldn't help but feel hurt that Moony would just ignore her like that. Was their friendship hanging on such a thin thread that it could be broken by the slightest things? It seemed so but Iris refused to believe it, she was going to get her best friend back, no matter what it would take.
As Iris walked into her first class she could feel the heavy tension throughout her group of friends. The fact that Lily was giving her a death stare because she was sitting right beside James didn't help the situation either..Although, James had been acting rather weird since the night at the Astronomy Tower. Thank god he wasn't acting as abnormal as Moony though, Iris would probably lose her mind!
Once class started Iris was very frustrated that Remus sat on the opposite side of the room..It was almost as if her very presence was a burden to him. Iris shrugged it off and decided to pay attention to class so she could talk to the new friend she made that informed her of the Hallows Eve dance that was being hosted tonight.
When she got into the common room she quickly grabbed her dress, makeup and other essential products before stopping outside the Ravenclaw common room, waiting for her friend Diana. As Diana opened the door Iris admired her common room, looking at each intricate detail on the walls and furniture. Diana led her up to her dorm and they got to work.
Iris praised Diana's hair dressing skills as she looked in the mirror in the corridor that lead to the Gryffindor common room. She looked at her short red dress and nodded in satisfaction, noting that the color complimented her strawberry blonde hair. Iris walked to the Great Hall and stared in awe at the amount of people dancing in marvelous gowns and tuxes. She ducked her head, scrambling down the stairs as she saw Lily in her nice emerald green dress and high heels, trying to avoid looking at her. Apparently that didn't work because Lily swaggered over to Iris with her posse behind her and stared at Iris aggresively "What did I say about staying away from James?" Lily fumed, her bright green eyes making her uncomfortable as they landed on her. "Like I said Lillian, James is not a dog that you can simply just make you follow you around, he is a human." Iris said warily, not wanting to make her snap. Lillian laughed confidently, strutting up to James and putting her lips to his. Iris watched as he slowly went from unresponsive to extremely responsive, feeling an empty hole in her chest as tears came into her eyes. She tried to blink them away, without success and walked up to Lily and James, interrupting their little session and pushing Lily. "You always ruin everything Lillian! You were always the one that was important and got everything important!" Iris yelled, pointing a finger at Lily as she continuted on her rant. By the time she was done, Iris realized she made a fool out of herself infront of her only crush and stormed out the doors and outside.
Outside Iris cried, she cried and cried like there was no tomorrow, she cried until she felt numb. Then she sat there, on the grass by the Black Lake and wondered how everything was so messed up. When it started pouring rain Iris was estatic, as she had always loved the rain and thunderstorms.
"Iris, run!" Iris heard a voice and turned, seeing James, Sirius, Remus and Lily all running towards her, making Iris confused. What she didn't realise was that a figure cloaked in black was coming up behind her from the shadows..
