Khalil and I were having coffee in the garden when he asked again about Glaiza and me.

"So gaano katagal kayo ni ate Glai?"

I sipped on my coffee before answering. "Two years and nine months." It surprised me that I still know the exact timeframe.

"Wow, medyo matagal din pala." He nodded. "Tapos sinikreto nyo yan for almost three years pala?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Well in college, it wasn't really a secret. Pero pag sem breaks when we were back in our houses, ayun, secret na siya. Mom didn't know, and her parents didn't know until her mom found out. Although I could have told mom back then, I even remember inviting Glaiza over, but the timing just wasn't right and Glaiza also declined because she was being paranoid about getting seen by her relatives or something."

Khalil's frown reached a whole new level, it was almost comical. "I could imagine that was a mess. I mean, I know how traditional their family is. Kulang na lang magsibak ako ng kahoy at mag-igib ng tubig to gain their trust and to show my sincerity nung nililigawan ko pa lang si Gabbi."

I shook my head when I imagined Khalil doing such things. "Ewww, hindi bagay sa'yo."

Khalil laughed a little but his frown returned immediately. "So ano ngang nangyari?"

I sipped on my coffee, savoring the bitter taste, and sighed. "Do I really need to talk about it?"

Khalil looked at me for a few seconds before shaking his head and placing his hand on my knee. "Well, you don't really have to. If it's that painful to talk about."

I finally placed my coffee down on the table after taking another sip, and sighed. My little brother had witnessed a lot of things in my life and he's basically my best guy friend so yeah, he deserves to know what happened.

"I mean imagine, my first serious relationship with someone who I was head over heels in love with and someone I took a great risk for was suddenly taken away from me and I didn't even get a proper explanation and a chance to make things right or a chance to fight for us."

I closed my eyes as the memories along with the pain went back to me.

When Glaiza broke things off with me without a proper explanation, I tried everything I could to get a chance to talk to her. But she never showed up and I never heard from her again, until finally I caught her on her last gig with her band. Jason told me that Glaiza decided to quit the band and would perform her last gig on that day.

When she saw me outside the restobar after their gig, she tried to run away from me, but too bad for her, running was one of my favorite cardio.

"Glaiza, please-" I caught her arm but she pulled it back as if she was burned by my touch.

"Wala na nga tayong dapat pag-usapan. Tapos na nga tayo 'di ba?"

"Ganun na lang yun for you? Ganun mo lang ako kadaling iwanan?! After everything that you have promised?!"

"Nagawa ko na nga di ba? Hayaan mo, hindi mo na ko makikita pa ulit. Makaka-move on ka din."

"So everything was just a lie, lahat nung sinabi mo? G, what happened to you? Hindi ka naman ganito! Dahil ba sa mom mo? Did she force you to leave me?"

"Ito na talaga ako, okay? Walang pumu-pwersa sa akin. Hindi mo lang talaga ako kilala! Bakit ba hindi mo ma-gets? Matalino ka naman ah! University scholar ka 'di ba? Hindi mo ba ma-gets na ayaw ko na nga sa relasyon natin?"
