Despite the pain still a little present in his wound which was nevertheless healed, Mathias managed to sleep peacefully in this comfortable bed which had been granted to him. This heat around him was like a rebirth for him. But he was suddenly awakened by the sound of the bedroom door being violently opened and banging against the wall. Gasping in surprise and wide-eyed, Mathias saw Lady Dimitrescu enter the room and come immediately towards him, her eyes bloodthirsty. Without him having time to understand or say a word, she forcefully grabbed him by the throat, lifting him off the bed and almost crushing his windpipe under her fingers.
_ "You really thought I was going to let you get safe like this? Do you really think I was going to want forgiveness from a miserable insect like you?!" the countess yelled in hatred, tightening her grip more and more on the aching throat of Mathias who was shaking his legs in the void, struggling desperately.
_ "But ... but I thought ... I thought you had changed! You had asked me for your forgiveness!" Mathias said, choking, the shock of distress and fear rekindling in his eyes. Alcina bared her teeth then, clenching them angrily, her eyes turning red again, bloodshot. Mathias then felt his breath completely cut off, and with horror, saw the countess transform her free hand into long, sharp claws, preparing to use them to pierce Mathias in the skull and finish him.
_ "Changed? Me?" Alcina laughed cruelly. "Who do you think I am, poor mortal fool? I'm Alcina from house Dimitrescu, and I'm not accountable to anyone! Now, you'll be sliced to ribbons, for my own pleasure!"
Mathias could do nothing more. She was going to kill him. With tearful eyes, completely helpless, he saw her prepare her claws, smiling with extreme sadism, and with a quick and brutal blow, pierced his head ...
Mathias opened his eyes at the same moment. Panting, his forehead drenched in sweat and his heart pounding as if about to spring from his chest, the young man jumped up, sitting in the bed. Trying to regain normal breathing, he quickly realized that it was just a nightmare, much to his relief. He sighed, letting his head fall back on the pillow. It looked so real, even more so than the reality itself.
After managing to regain his composure and convince himself that it was just a nightmare, Mathias rubbed his hands over his face and looked towards the old clock in the bedroom, which hinted at its light and recurring ticking. The hands showed the hour of noon. It was late. Between the curtains of the window, filtered a light thread of daylight.
Not having any more desire to sleep, because still badly after this terrible dream, Mathias decided to get up. On a chair, he found his jeans pants, boots and mittens, which he put on. Once fully dressed, he opened the bedroom door and stepped out into the corridor.
There was a great silence in the castle when Mathias crossed the various corridors, and only the wind outside was heard against the windows. And finally, arriving in the large living room on the lower floor, he found the three sisters, seated on the sofa and the armchairs near the large fireplace, who, feeling him coming, immediately turned their eyes towards him. Daniela was the first to get up and come with a hurry towards Mathias, and without him being able to act first, saw her come to hug him, as relieved to see him getting better and finally standing. A little surprised at first, Mathias hugged her back, patting her gently on the back to reassure her. Just like her younger sister, Cassandra also came over to hug the young man, and even placed a small kiss on his cheek, which made him blush softly. Bela was the last to come and hug him, smiling at him and showing like her two sisters that she was happy to see him recovered.
_ "Mother is in the dining room. She is waiting for you." Bela said then, pointing to the doors leading to the said room. Mathias said nothing but nodded and not wanting to make the countess wait any longer, went there. The three sisters then returned to their occupations, their mother having asked them to be alone to speak to Mathias when he was up.
