chapter twelve

Annabelle's POV
When I got to the place,I scrutinized everywhere but there was no sight of anyone except for a raised tent.I didn't want to go to the tent because I could possibly interrupt someone's event. They chose the best place for an event because the scenery was captivating.

I removed my phone from my bag to call my mum's phone which the woman had. I was angry because she was playing a prank on me. I got where she told me be but she wasn't there.My mum's phone was ringing but no one picked it up. I tried again until someone came from behind and closed my mouth. I couldn't scream because she warned me not to.Her voice was the same as the one on phone earlier with me.The next thing  she did was blind fold me. I felt helpless because I couldn't do anything to get away.She held me with all her might as if she knew I would escape.Tears started streaming down my face,I felt stupid for trusting her. I would have Involve the police in the first place.

Maybe I just underestimated her,I thought she just wanted my presence to let go of my mom and grandma.Now I became her pray as well.

"What could she possibly want from us?"I questioned myself.How I wish she knew we didn't have anything valuable like money to give her if that's what she wanted.We weren't rich like the Johnsons.She came digging for gold in the wrong place. All those thoughts crossed my mind in the midst of tears. I bet the blind fold would be extremely wet from tears.

We kept on walking I didn't know where she was taking me.But I could tell we were still at the highlands because we walked up and down the mountain.She guided me carefully through my steps by holding my hands.As we were walking we reached a certain place that good music was playing.I couldn't see the place because of the blind fold but the woman stopped and made me sit on a chair. I sat down as I waited patiently for her next move.

Before She removed my blindfold,she started by apologizing to me."Sweetheart am sorry for all the trouble that I have caused you."I really didn't care about her giving me apologies,all I wanted was to see my mom and grandma. I was about to retort furiously at her but she removed my blindfold before I could get a chance to say anything.

I had mixed emotions at the time, what I saw before me got me perplexed. I was in the tent that I had saw earlier. It had few chairs and a table that had a cake on it, some biscuits fruits sweets and Juice.The cake was well baked and decorated and it had my name on it that read"Happy birthday Annabelle."I didn't know if I was suppose to be smiling because I was confused.

I looked at the woman who removed my blindfold,she was smiling greatly and she seemed friendly.She was about my grandma's age, that made me calm but I had a thousand questions running through my mind. I wanted to know who she was,why she did all that she did and where my grandma and mum were.She seemed to be reading my mind because she started by introducing herself while smiling.

I didn't have the energy to smile at the moment but I just heard what she said.

"My name is Cynthia,am a nanny at the Johnson's residence and your mummy and granny are here," She stated. I was about to say something when they appeared say "surprise sweetheart in unison.Mum came to me and hugged me tightly I burst into tears in her arms.

Grandma did the same too,it was then that I noticed I was pranked and surprised for my birthday at the same time.The both apologise but made fun of me for crying.I was was happy to see them, that's when I hugged Cynthia the nanny she made everything look real.Grandma had told me before that she will surprise me but I didn't think she would be exreme.

I wiped all my tears and tried to get back to my happy state.My Birthday party went on until It was time for me to receive gifts from them and I got a  couple of them.Good music continued playing on the speakers which was placed around the tents and my mum was in control of the play list.

We danced to the music  while we drunk ate and took selfies. I was thrilled to be around mum grandma and nanny Cynthia.She and grandma became best of friends and they rhymed perfectly.

I had never celebrated my birthday like this before and I was glad. I thanked the three women for spending time and celebrating with me.I had my sweet sixteen birthday by my special place, that was intriguing for me.

When my party came to and end,the people who helped organise my birthday came to take their tents and chairs.They also brought me birthday gifts and I was happy.My mum placed all my gifts in a bag,I preferred to open them later.We decided to head back home when it was 5:00pm.

My mum called for a taxi to pick us up,we climbed in it and it sped of. I came to learn that the nanny Cynthia was our neighbour.She worked for the Johnson's family the rich neighbours.Our first encounter wasn't a good one but I came to love her regardless.She had a good heart and being with her felt like being with Grandma.Our house came first then theirs so,we bid her goodbye then we proceed to our house.The Johnson's weren't far from us we could see nanny Cynthia getting off the taxi. Grandma waved at her as she got inside the gate.

That's how my birthday ended and I was glad.The only thing I wanted to do was open my birthday gifts.
