Chapter eighteen

Brian's POV
I had texted Anna earlier after having my breakfast, I headed to the pineapple's highland where she had introduced before.

The place is beautiful and peaceful,I now understood why Annabelle was so in love with the place.Truth be told, the scenery is also starting to be my favourite place.

After exploring pineapple once more for almost the entire day,I went back home at 5:00pm. I got home but couldn't find my mum and dad.Nanny was in the living room watching her favourite Philippines soap opera.

"Nanny am home,"I called out for her to catch her attention.She was really into the soap opera that she didn't hear me walk in. Upon seeing me, she muted her soap opera so she could hear me out. I asked her where my parents were and she told me they urgently needed to go to the city on a short notice to attend a business meeting. I wasn't surprised because they were all about business.Even now in between the festive season they dealt with their business. I didn't care, besides they were never at home to spend time with me.

They had stayed three days since they came back from the city and now they were back again for business.Its only four days to the new year,I wondered if they would be here with me as the new year kicked in.

"Are you even listening to me sweetheart, what is bothering you?"I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear anything nanny was saying to me.

"Am sorry nanny what were you saying?"

"I was saying Annabelle the granddaughter  of mrs Jennifer scored grade A,her results came out today and Jennifer informed me."

"Wow that's good news nanny."
"I know right,so go and rest now then you will freshen up and prepare yourself later, we will join them for dinner at 7:00pm Jennifer invited us.

"Okay nanny as you say, let me catch some sleep am exhausted."

I left nanny to her soap opera before I headed to my room. I was so happy for Annabelle, I couldn't wait to congratulate her for scoring good grades.She isn't just beautiful, she also has brains, what a perfect combination. I wanted to text her right away but I decided not to,I would congratulate her in person.

When I was done preparing myself, I headed downstairs to the living room to wait for nanny. I didn't know why women took alot of time preparing themselves.When it came to nanny I wouldn't complain,my dad always complained to mum a couple of times.The thought of that made me laugh because I could relate, the same happened to me with my girlfriends before.Mum is even lucky because dad always complains but waits for her still,l on the other hand wouldn't put up with lateness or wasting of time. I would always live my girlfriends behind when they made me late,and they knew me for that.

When nanny was done,we went to Mrs Jennifer's house.The gate wasn't that good though old, the important thing is that it provided security. I opened it and allowed nanny to go in first. I have never been to Mrs Jennifer's house before except for standing outside her gate.They had no electricity but the moon was enough to make our path visible. The compound's outside view of  Anna's grandma captivated me.She had planted flowers all round a compound.Even though the house wasn't luxurious,the flowers made everything exquisite I like it.And too seemed to like it, because she kept on touching the flowers that led to the front door of Mrs Jennifer.

Nanny knocked the door,then a middle age woman I believe is my mum's age mate answered the door. I could tell she was Anna's mum because she looked alot like her.She happily welcomed us inside then she closed the door before greeting nanny then me. I bet she had met nanny before because they didn't look like strangers to each other.

Anna stood from her sit then she rushed to hug my nanny with excitement written all over her. I was so happy to see her, and her mother was a great woman too.She introduced herself to me as Melissa and I wasn't wrong when she told me she was Anna's mum.I introduced myself to her to, and I felt good when she called me son despite me telling her my name. I was thrilled to spend some time with her even if it was for a while.Mum Melissa is a great woman to be around.
