Before we start I just wanted to say that I know it's been a while. The short version is that I hated this story so I dropped it, but a few weeks ago I was bored and decided to review and rewrite some parts of this story. Some plot lines have completely changed, so I would recommend rereading so you don't get lost. And now each chapter has a picture, the cover has been changed, and each chapter has a quote from a song at the beginning.

"that's my fucking best friend, that's my fucking right hand" - best friend, conan gray

Katelyn Sullivan

I was panicking. This was a bad idea, a really bad idea. What was I thinking? Inviting her to my dorm room? We weren't even friends! I was supposed to hate her. Where did I go wrong? What were we even gonna do?

After pacing for about ten minutes, I decided to go to Target and buy some games to play. I finally settled on UNO, Phase Ten, regular cards, and Monopoly.

I don't know why I was so stressed. I hated to admit but I kind of cared what Annabeth thought of me. When she wasn't around Penelope she was actually really likable. I wanted tonight to go well. I wanted a friend.

After Target, I went to Giant to buy chips and ordered pizza. When I finally got back to my dorm room it was almost 6, the time she was supposed to come over. I started panicking all over again. Was I supposed to go over to her room? Would she just come over herself? It suddenly hit me that I never got her phone number. I was in the middle of pacing unhealthily when there was a knock on my door. She was early. Which I was not expecting in the slightest. I opened the door to reveal Annabeth. She wore blue straight-leg jeans with paint splatters, a cropped white button-up shirt, and colorful Nikes. She looked great. I was a little speechless at first.

"No pajamas?" I asked because apparently, I don't know how to say hi like a normal person.

"In my bag," she said while pointing to her mini backpack, "Didn't wanna walk over in PJs."

"Cool," I said, "Come inside."

"Oh..." She said after walking inside.

"What?" I asked, suddenly very stressed.

"You got pepperoni." She said, gesturing toward the pizza.

"Do you not like pepperoni?" I asked, appalled.

"No, it's not bad I just prefer olive pizza." She said in all seriousness. I stared at her for a little, not believing what I was hearing.

"Out," I said pointing to the door and lightly pushing her.

"Nooo," she said while laughing.

"Olives?" I asked, "I can maybe get over you not liking pepperoni but olives? Have standards Annabeth."

"I do have standards!" She said defensively, "Have you even tried it yet?"

"No." I said, "Because I know it would suck and I would never do that to my taste buds."

"Oh my god you're so dramatic," she said while rolling her eyes, "Can we continue with the sleepover or are we gonna keep talking about this."

"Fine," I said, "I will let it go for now."

"Thank you." She sat down on one of my pillows and grabbed the bag of chips, "So what are we starting with. Oh my god, you have Phase Ten."

"Yeah," I chuckled, "You know Phase Ten?"

"Yeah duh it's amazing."

"Finally someone says it," I said with a giant smile on my face. I was really enjoying this.

After winning Phase Ten, losing UNO, losing War, and giving up on Monopoly because it was taking too long, we ran out of things to do and it was around 8. We also ran out of food. In conclusion, I'm not the best planner.

"So what now?" I asked. Annabeth thought for a little bit.

"We could go out," she said hesitantly.

"Like to the roof?"

"No, like outside," she said cautiously.

"Wait. You mean sneak out?" I asked, surprised.

"If you don't want to-"

"No, I'd love to!" I exclaimed quickly, "Let me just change out of my PJs. I'll be right back." I grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to change. I wasn't expecting her to suggest sneaking out. I honestly thought we would just watch Netflix on my computer until we fell asleep, but this was much better. I left the bathroom wearing my white shortalls over a nirvana t-shirt.

"Okay! Ready to go?" I asked. Annabeth brightened.

"Definitely!" She said with a giant smile. She grabbed my hand and lead me toward the back of the school.

"Is this the back way?"

"Yeah, it is. Keep your voice down though."

Finally, we got outside. It was dark out, so the city was alive. Lights were on everywhere and the Empire State Building could be seen in the distance.

"God I love New York," I said.

"Me too," Annabeth said grinning.

"So what now?" I asked.

"Well, there's a bike rental down the street and there are some bookstores and parks we can go to," Annabeth paused, "If you want to that is," she added shyly.

"Yeah, I want to dingus," I pushed her lightly.

"Shut up." She said, pushing me back, "Come on let's go." She grabbed my hand again.

And that was how maybe the best night I had had in a while started. We didn't end up going to the bookstore because it would be pointless, but we still had fun. We rode around NYC and eventually found an empty playground. Later on, it started raining so we decided to get back home.

"That was so much fun!" Annabeth said when we were back in my room.

"I know!" I said, "You aren't half bad to hang out with Chase."

She grinned, "You're not too bad either Sullivan."

"We should probably change and go to bed though."

"Yeah, we should," she said, getting up, "I'll go to the bathroom."

"Kay."

I dried myself off and changed into my PJs. Today was great and I actually made a friend. Maybe even a best friend.

And that's the end! Longest chapter so far but also my favorite. I loved developing this friendship and I'm excited for you all to see where it goes!

Thank you for reading!
