𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐃 as they travelled farther and farther north. Rain splattered the windows in a halfhearted way, then the sun put in a feeble appearance before clouds drifted over it once more.  When darkness fell and lamps came on inside the carriage, Luna rolled up The Quibbler, put it carefully away in her bag, and took to staring at everyone in the compartment instead.

"We'd better change," said Hermione at last. She and Ron pinned their prefect badges carefully to their chests.

Nyx went off to the bathroom before the train arrived at the station. She was in her black Hogwarts robes now and went to tie her hair back only to stop herself. That was right, she didn't have her ribbon anymore, nor had she packed any sort of hair tie. Nyx sighed and resorted to blowing her golden hair out of her face and brushing the strands behind her ears. She exited the bathroom, as the train began to slow down and heard the usual racket up and down the train corridor as everyone scrambled to get their luggage and pets assembled, ready for departure.

The others had probably taken her things for her, so Nyx made her way towards the exit maneuvering her way through the swarm of students.

"Oh, sorry," Nyx said quickly when she bumped into someone.

"You apologize to me? I never thought I'd see the day," he said hotly.

Nyx frowned, she looked up at him. Draco was gazing down at her with a look that was very unpleasant. She chose to ignore him and planned to just walk past as if she hadn't even seen him, but instead, he grabbed her by the forearm, opened the door of an emptied-out compartment and pushed her inside.

"I will break your face," Nyx balled her fists.

"No thanks," Draco recoiled. "You've done enough to my face over the years!"

Nyx stared at him and watched as he placed his hand in his pockets. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously, "What do you want?" she asked.

"You disappeared again," Draco said. "Is this, like, a common practice for you? Running away from home?"

"Home?" Nyx scoffed and straightened herself. "I haven't a clue what you mean. Don't delude yourself, Draco, the manor was never my home."

Draco's eyebrow twitched, "So what? You were just planning on using us for our money? Is that it? Don't act as if those robes and that wand of yours didn't come from us—"

"Okay," Nyx sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "I was twelve, Draco. I didn't ask to be taken away to some strange place. I didn't ask for Severus to drop me off at the manor. I didn't ask your parents to buy me everything. But let's not go acting as if it was done out of the kindness of their hearts—I was a tool to them, I still am, and you know that!"
