An Intense Battle

In the Slumbering Weald
Ash Pov
I met with ocean blue eyes and then immediately screamed at the top of my lung. It was Goh, I quickly let go of his arm."What the heck, why were you holding my hand."Goh shouted, flustered."I couldn't see anything in the fog and thought you were Serena. Why the heck were you so close to me anyway. Before the fog appeared you were far behind me.".Goh blushed while rubbing his neck and replied,"Well you see, when the fog started appearing I rushed in front and tried to grab Serena's hand but your hand found mine first so I assumed it was Serena."I got mad, he was trying to hold Serena's hand. I angrily said,"You were trying steal Serena away from me, weren't you!". He shouted back,"She isn't even your girlfriend so stop acting like you own her!". Then we once again started an insult war but it was cut short when we realized that Serena and Chloe were nowhere to be found. We called out for them but heard no reply. We got worried so Goh pulled out his phone to call them but sadly, there was no signal."Ok, let's stop arguing and split to look around for them." I said. Goh said,"I agree we should stop arguing but let's not split up. The fog can become thick at any moment and we could lose each others too." I nodded and then both started making our way through the forest hoping we would find them.

Goh Pov
We spent a long time searching and calling out their name but still couldn't find them. 'Damn it', I thought. "Ok, I don't think their in the Slumbering Weald anymore. They probably left already and we're just wasting our time." I said."I think your right. Alright, lead the way back." Ash said. I stood there confused by what he was asking. I replied,"What do you mean, I thought you were keeping track of where we were going?"."I thought you were." I said. Suddenly realization hit both of us." WE'RE LOST!!!!!",We both shouted and it echoed through the empty forest."Dang it Ash, you got us lost." I said frustrated."Me!? You know I'm bad at navigation, yet you expected me to know where we were heading." He said angrily."Ya your right! I forgot your a complete idiot who can't even do a simple task."."At least this idiot stole Serena's heart when you couldn't." He said while pointing at himself with pride as if he didn't just admit he was an idiot. Pikachu switched gazes between us, worried of how this would turn out. I got mad at him for bring up the whole Serena situation. I snapped and said,"Shut up, don't act like she's your girlfriend. Nothing is confirmed between you two. So I can always steal her heart back." He burst into laughter and said,"Steal her heart back? HA. You act like she used to like when in fact she has liked me from the very beginning." At this point I was fed up with his glowting. I reached my belt I lifted a pokeball and said,"I have had just about enough of you Ash Ketchum. Let's settle this once and for all, WITH A BATTLE.". He smirked and said,"Sure, just be prepared to lose!". Then, reached his belt and pulled out his pokeball.

3rd Person Pov (Battle Pov)

Goh and Ash: "I choose you Cinderace/Lucario"

Cinderace and Lucario materialized and faced each others, ready for what could be an intense battle.

Goh: Cinderace use blaze kick!
Ash: Lucario use close combat!

Both Pokemon rushed at each others with their attacks ready to hit. Cinderace tried to kick Lucario in the face but Lucario dodged in the nick of time and then tried to land a punch on Cinderace. However, Cinderace jumped into the air and actives the blaze kick and went back down hoping to hit Lucario. Luckily, Lucario dodged and Cinderace's attack hit the ground, leaving a small dent.

Goh: Hurry, use blaze kick again!
Ash: Lucario, close combat once again go!

Lucario ran at Cinderace while it's leg was still in the ground. Lucario tried to punch Cinderace in the face.

Goh: Cinderace duck down now!

Both Ash and Lucario were confused by Goh's command but proceeded to try to attack. Unfortunately for them, Cinderace understood Goh completely and ducked, dodging Lucario's punch.

Goh: Now quickly flip while using blaze kick
Ash: WHAT!

Before Lucario and Ash had a chamce to think of a counter. Cinderace flipped and backwards as burning hot flames formed on it's feet. During the flip, it kicked Lucario right in the chin with blaze kick causing Lucario to go flying backwards. Lucario lost its balance and fell down.

Ash: Lucario no!
Goh: Good job Cinderace!
Cinderace: Cinder (Thanks)

Then Goh looked at Ash.

Goh: First I'm going to win this battle, then I'm going to win over Serena!

Ash growled

Ash: Like I would, ever let that happen! Plus, the battle isn't over!

Goh looked and saw that Lucario had slowly gotten up and put in is it's fighting stance. Cinderace saw this and did the same.

Ash: Ok our turn now. Lucario use double team!

Many Lucario illusions surrounded Cinderace in a circle. Cinderace tried to identify the real one, but it was no use, the illusions were exact copies.

Goh: Damn it! Cinderace we have no choice but to beat them all. Use quick attack!

Cinderace ran every single illusion and ran through all of them, causing them to disappear. Cinderace looked around confused as all the illusions were gone but the real one was no where in sight.

Ash: Now! LUCARIO USE FORCEPALM!
Goh: WHAT!?

Cinderace looked up and saw Lucario coming down from the sky, palm held in front of it, ready to attack.

Goh: Cinderace hurry! Dodge it!

However, it was too late. Lucario had already closed the gap between them and then hit with a huge force from it's palm. Causing a huge explosion and sending Cinderace flying backwards.

Goh: Cinderace! No!
Ash: HA, did you really think you can beat me. You might have caught more pokemon than me. But you can never beat me in a battle!

Goh grunted and then looked at Cinderace.

Goh: Shut up! You haven't won yet!

Cinderace slowly got up and glared at Lucario then got into its fighting stance. Ash saw this.

Ash: Ok then, let's finish this! Lucario use Aura Sphere!

Goh: Cinderace counter it with Pyro Ball!

Lucario kept it's had together with a small gap inbetween and started forming a medium size dark blue sphere. Cinderace pulled out a small peddle from it's back pocket and started kicking it in the air and orange flames started surrounding it.

Ash/Goh: NOW! Fire!

Both of their strongest attacks were launched at each others. They collided and caused a huge explosion. The smoke cleared and both pokemon, despite being injured by the explosion, we're still standing with just a few scratches.

Ash/Goh (thought): Damn it, it's still standing.

Ash Pov
I couldn't believe Cinderace was still standing. I had to admit Goh has gotten better at battling. But there was no way I was gonna let him win the battle. I was about to give Lucario another command. However, suddenly we heard a loud howl come from somewhere in the Slumbering Weald. It sounded the same as the one we heard before we were separated from Chloe and Serena. We all looked around expecting the fog to form again. Luckily, nothing happened and the howling stopped. Leaving us all confused. Suddenly, we heard sounds of some kind of machine. I looked at Goh and said,"You hear that too right?". He nodded and said,"Yes, let's follow the sounds. We it might have something to do with the dynamax energy spikes." I nodded. We decided to stop our battle and continue with our real reason for being on the Slumbering Weald, to investigate the dynamax energy.
