It's been a week since Zack had died, and by now everyone knew he was missing. People who didn't even know the loser were acting as if they missed him. He even heard that some girls had claimed they wanted to be friends with him.
Yeah right, like he would be brave enough to talk to some chicks.
When Blaze walked into school a week after the murder, he made sure to act like nothing was up. Surprisingly Angelo was able to keep his shit together and when they passed each other they held eye contact for a minute.
"Hey yo! You two listening, you guys looking like those girls. Talking with their eyes and shit." George rolled his eyes, and put his hands on his hips and acting like he was chewing gum. "Oh ya, girl mhm ya." He moved his eyes along with his words.
Both Angelo and Blaze started laughing, George laughed along with them standing up at his full height. Blaze noticed that Todd had still not gotten to school yet, maybe he didn't hear what happened.
"Any of you guys talk to Todd?"
"No." Both George and Angelo stated, but they were looking over his shoulders and not at him.
"I heard my name, do you know that my name ain't somethin' you need to be talking about."
Blaze turned around and raised an eyebrow, Todd looked like he hadn't gotten any sleep. He even had slight stubble on his face and his usual smart appearance looked like he had fallen outta bed and threw whatever he had in reach of him on.
"You look like crap." Blaze shook his head.
"Yeah whatever, you guys didn't know that I was busy." Todd looked at him, his eyes narrowed. "I'm goin' to class, probably gonna go home during lunch and freshen up." Todd walked past him and Blaze stared at his back until he disappeared into the crowd of students.
"What the hell was that about?" Angelo had stood up from the floor and brushed off his pants.
"I don't know and I don't care."
"Anyway, about Zack. You think they'll find him?" George asked, but he didn't look particularly interested in this topic.
"He probably ran away, so who knows." Blaze shrugged.
"How about you Lo?" George looked towards Angelo.
"What does it matter? He's not here right?" His jaw was tight.
"Damn don't be so uptight about it." George rolled his eyes. "Ima go to class too, see you guys at lunch." Then he walked away and disappeared around a corner.
"Relax, at this rate you'll make us look suspicious." Blaze hissed, bumping Angelo with his shoulder.
"Shut up Blaze, I'm cool you're the one acting weird. So if I were you, I would watch myself." Angelo looked him up and down, rolling his eyes.
"That a threat tough guy?" Blaze stood close to Angelo his eyes narrowed.
"Nah, cause there isn't any point. If I go down, you go down it's simple." Angelo smirked and walked off.
He stood there, after a couple of minutes the bell rang and Blaze along with the other students rushed off to their first class.
I ain't going down with nobody, plus I'll take care of it if that's the case. And this time he meant what he thought. If he had to kill anyone who was threatening to rat him out, hell then he'd do it.
***
When lunch came around Blaze was one of the first out of the group to sit down at their table, then George, and Angelo was the last one to come.
