It's so dark, I can't see anything and I'm so cold... Zack was sitting in a dark place, he couldn't see anything. He tried to talk but no words came out, he wanted to go home he didn't want to be in this place.

"Hello."

Mom? Zack stood up, his mom was talking but where was she? How come he couldn't see her?

"Yes, good evening to you too, my son... he hasn't come home and I was wondering if he was still at the school?" She sounded worried.

Had he really not gone home yet? How long has it been? Zack didn't know what was happening, he wanted to comfort his mother and show her that he was here. He heard her, and that he was sorry for worrying her.

Zack closed his eyes tightly, and when he opened them again he was in his house. Most of all he could see! Zack moved his foot, but it didn't budge off the ground. With an internal groan Zack ran his fingers through his hair, he heard small footsteps running toward the...kitchen?

Zack noticed that he was in the kitchen, right near the kitchen at the far wall. It was morning time too, about around the time his mother would be off to work and himself for school.

The footsteps belonged to Flash, he looked bigger and his tail was wagging excitedly.

Zack smiled, he wanted so much to move and be able to give him a pat on the head or even a hug.

While he was looking at Flash he saw his mom enter, she wore a blue blouse, black skirt and her hair was out flowing around her. He felt sad suddenly and his longing to reach his mother grew, even more, Zack strained his legs even more and then they lifted off the ground.

He fell to the floor, then picked himself up to his knees.

Flash was turned towards Zack, but his tail wasn't wagging and he began to whine.

Zack felt that Flash was somehow looking right at him, but was that possible? Did that mean he was actually home? He began touching his body, he was here.

"What's wrong boy? Ain't nothing there." He heard his mother say, patting Flash's back.

His mother was quiet for a while, she seemed to be thinking about something. She looked sad and Zack wanted to comfort her, and when he stood he felt like his mother was looking at him she was no longer in thought.

"That's nonsense..." She laughed nervously somehow still looking at Zack.  "There isn't anything in this house."

But I am, can't you see me, mom? I'm right here, and you're looking at me! Zack walked towards his mother slowly, and when he was an arm's length away from her.

She turned her back to him and walked away, Zack quickly followed. She was looking at the thermostat in confusion, then she started towards the door. Again he followed, and when she opened the door he climbed into the passenger seat easily.

It was like he was more flexible and he smiled, he knew his mother was going to work but he wanted to be beside her. When his mother settled in, she started the car and started to drive.

Zack stared out the window and watched all the cars that drove by. The sun was hitting his face and it felt good. Zack began to doze off, the silence of the car accompanied by what was going on outside with birds singing and cars driving made him so sleepy.

When Zack woke up again he was in that dark place, panic overtook him and he started to run.
