This was a request by AlichaHanchana, who asked me to write a chapter for Patterson. I hope it's good!

How you Meet

═════ ∘◦ ❈ ◦∘ ═════╝

- You used to be working as an investigator with the Scotland Yard for some time, and soon enough, you got transferred to the CID (Criminal Investigation Department), to continue your work there. You were promoted from being an investigator at the Yard to being an information analyst.

- You were known around the department for being extremely smart and intelligent and everyone there treated you with respect. After all, being a woman, you had worked your way up from nothing to obtain such a valuable position.

- Patterson, being the head of the CID, took special notice of your useful and helpful work. He had to admit, your work was more dependable than most of the work that was done by some of the older men there.

- Holding that into account, Patterson offered you a position as his assistant. He honestly didn't need an assistant, but he wanted to use that as an excuse to have you work alongside him. You accepted the offer without hesitation. Being such close colleagues, you both became friends quickly.

Asking You Out

═════ ∘◦ ❈ ◦∘ ═════╝

At first, the only reason Patterson caught interest in you was thinking that with your analysis and collection of information, it would be more helpful in his job with William James Moriarty. His only motive was to get more information from you directly. In other words, his sole interest was to use you.

But what he didn't account for, was the fact that he became very good friends with you. How was I  supposed to know she's such a funny and nice person? I can't possibly have feelings for her- no, no, I'm just overthinking things. Just focus on your work, Patterson, these thoughts will go away soon enough.

Yeah, no. Patterson thought it was just a silly crush that would go away in a few weeks. But he felt like instead of disappearing, the situation was getting worse. So, he thought the best thing he could do was confront you about it.
