Domishev hadn't stopped bouncing in his seat since he'd gotten in the car.
As they rode, Arthur really had to fight the urge to start questioning them. They had never even been in a car before, and it took a bit of convincing to even get them inside. Now, Maksim was trying to calm down his overexcited mate before he made the car run off the road.
"I'm going to miss our home," he whispered to Maksim in the far back seat. Arthur and Thea were seated in front of them and tried their best not to eavesdrop.
"We'll go back one day," Maksim assured.
"We're getting close," Arthur turned around to let them know. They both nodded in thanks and turned back to each other. They pulled up to a restaurant a few minutes later, escorting the two new Lycans through the door.
"Holy shit," Maksim answered as he looked at the menu. He asked, tentatively, how much they were allowed to order.
"Knock yourself out," a Councilwoman assured and Maksim order six plates for himself. Domishev order two and a bunch of sides. They practically drooled as food was delivered to different tables and the Councilmen and women called the table to order.
"Let's begin," several members of the Council pulled out notepads and began the questions.
"What year did you escape Roman?"
"We're not sure," Maksim spoke up, "but we've counted the days we were at our cabin. This is what we have." He handed something over from his bag of necessities. It has many, many, many tally marks and it took some time for the Council to add it up.
"A little over three and a half years," a Councilwoman spoke up.
"Explain what happened when Roman came to your village."
"That might be too intense for this location," Arthur interrupted, "maybe this could wait until we arrive at the pack."
"Fine. Tell me more about how you got to where we found you," someone scribbled down some notes. The questioning went on even past their finished meal, and when they got back in the car, Maksim and Domishev were fast asleep.
They arrived back at the hotel and escorted the two sleepy Lycans to their rooms before retiring to their own rooms.
"Oh," Thea groaned and flopped onto their bed. Arthur grinned, still having some energy, and unpacked pajamas for both of them.
"Let's shower," he said.
"I'll do it in the morning," she murmured into a pillow.
"No, you won't," Arthur sighed.
"Fine," Thea sat up but grinned at her mate and scurried into the bathroom. "Only if we can shower together."
"How could we not?" Arthur grinned right back at her and smacked her ass. Thea squealed, rushed into the bathroom, and turned the water on. It took longer than normal, because they ended up taking two-and-a-half showers total. Tucked into bed, sated and relaxed, the two held each other and tried to get some rest.
"I'm glad I have my parents," Thea murmured, tucked into Arthur's chest. He leaned his head against hers.
"This is crazier than I could have expected," Arthur responded.
"I'm just glad to have you along with this. I couldn't do it alone," Thea muttered. She backed up a bit, gave Arthur a kiss, and settled down again.
"I love you," Arthur said.
"I love you too."
The next day, they arrived back at the airport. Maksim was as white as a sheet and bouncing his leg while they waited for the plane to be ready.
"That thing...that thing goes up in the air?" Domishev's voice was full of disbelief. His face was pressed up against the viewing glass a few feet away. He turned to face them and formed a small pout when he saw how anxious he was.
"It's okay," he whispered. Domishev sat next to his mate and grabbed one of his hands, putting his other one on his mate's leg. "They wouldn't have us ride in that thing if it wasn't safe. They wouldn't put themselves in that thing if it wouldn't work."
"I know," Maksim swallowed. They sat together in silence, under Thea's caring gaze. The Councilmen and women were at a large table talking to each other. It wasn't long before the plane was ready and they had to convince Maksim to get on the plane.
"We don't have time for this," one of the Councilmen scolded. He rolled his eyes and turned his back to them to board the plane. It was just Arthur, Thea, Domishev, and Maksim. Arthur and Thea were on either side of the stairs to the plane and Domishev was behind Maksim, trying to physically push him onto the plane.
"Come on!" Domishev grunted. They were both strong, but Maksim's strength clearly outdid his mate's.
"I can't," Maksim whispered. His face was so pale it looked like he could pass out at any second.
"I promise, nothing will happen," Arthur assured with a small smile on his face.
"Promise?" Maksim sniffled. Domishev pouted again and held his mate tight.
"Promise." Those words were enough to get him onto the plane, but Maksim's seatbelt could barely contain his anxiety. His mate was allowed to sit on his lap instead of remaining buckled while they took off. Arthur was considerably less anxious but that didn't mean he wasn't nervous at all.
"Goddess," Arthur winced aloud on the plane. After the short flight, Maksim practically collapsed onto the pavement and kissed the ground. Arthur came out right after him and closed his eyes to stabilize himself.
"We'll let you drive them to your territory," a councilwoman calmly walked off of the plane. "No funny business." Arthur only scoffed and sent a quick glare at the councilwoman before helping Maksim off of the ground.
"No more planes, right?" A drop of sweat fell from his brow.
"No more," Arthur promised. He escorted the two men and his mate to the car as the Council pulled away without them. On the way to their pack, the car filled with more nerves.
"What's your pack like?" Domishev spoke up from the backseat. Thea and Arthur were holding hands across the middle console and smiled towards the road.
"Everyone will be excited to see you. This pack loves and cherishes Lycans," Arthur assured. It didn't seem to lessen their nerves.
"Our parents are going to be overexcited," Thea warned, "but it's not a bad thing! It's just hugs and kisses."
"He knows how to deal with hugs and kisses," Domishev said smugly with a cheeky smile on his face. Maksim's elbow to the side made him quiet down.
"Where are we staying?"
"You'll be staying at my house," Arthur answered. The pack house would be too loud and just too much in general for them. At Arthur's house, all they would have to deal with is a moody teenager. They got closer to the house.
It was no surprise at all that both of their parents were waiting outside. Four faces lit up with joy and rushed the car as Maksim squeaked in fear from the backseat.
"It's okay," Arthur assured with a chuckle, "It's just our—"
"Honey!" Lilia wailed as she opened Arthur's door and threw herself at him.
"Hi, mom."
