Hello!! I hope you enjoy this story. I'm starting to really like it!!

"Life as we know it is a lie," Councilman Milton stared at Lev, Arthur, Kat, and Thea in their Lycan forms.

"Update us, please," one of the Councilwomen asked. The newly elected Council weren't people to mess with, so Alpha Blaton stepped forward and carefully explained what they knew.

"Someone from the adoption agency is supposed to be here any minute," he smiled nervously. "We tried to time the visits correctly, but you showed up early, Councilmen." The men and women were distracted watching Lev and Kat play around in Lycan form while Arthur and Thea hadn't stopped rubbing against each other since the Council arrived.

"So essentially, you know nothing," Councilman Harth raised his eyebrows.

"We've done as much research as we can, Councilman, but we don't know anything about Thea's past before us. Hopefully we'll know more soon," Alpha Luke tried to assure.

Last night had been a sleepless, stressful night for everyone, including the newly mated couple that had spent the entire night giggling and kissing. Today was no exception.

"There she is now," everyone's actions were interrupted by an older minivan speeding up the driveway. Two women and a man tumbled out of the car and appeared before them with shy smiles.

"Council, Alphas, it's wonderful to see you. We brought the sensitive information you requested," a woman with long brown hair held a binder forward.

"Thank you, Jane," Alpha Blaton smiled before rushing into the binder.

"Let's head inside, shall we?" Alpha Luke ushered everyone inside and left the Lycans to change and follow suit. They all seated themselves in the conference room as the Council lectured the three adoption workers on the importance of the secrecy at the moment.

"It says here," Alpha Blaton began, "The Thea was found wandering in the southwest part of the country, near the Ten Tribes pack."

"Dr., you suggest she was born with it?" The Councilmen and women turned their eyes to the doctor.

"Lev lived for hundreds of years with a small blob inside of him, and it never grew. For it to be this size, it has to have grown along with Thea," Dr. Walahan explained.

"So what's the most possible scenario?" Councilman Milton leaned onto the table.

"It also says here that the people assumed to be Thea's biological parents were found dead nearby. What happened to their bodies?" Alpha Luke asked the men and women from the adoption agency.

Thea grew pale and tucked herself into Arthur, enjoying the sensation of cuddling with her mate and trying not to think about the death of parents she didn't even remember.

"They were buried in a local cemetery shortly after," Jane answered.

"If we want to know more, we should start there," Alpha Blaton closed the binder.

"If it was the same black substance," Lev wondered aloud, "wouldn't that have something to do with Roman? How did they get to the southeast?"

"That's what we're hopefully going to find out," Alpha Luke smiled tentatively. He stood up and offered to show the Council to their temporary rooms and exited behind them.

"This is terrible. I don't know how your dad dealt with it," Thea whispered in Arthur's ear. He turned to her, nuzzled her forehead, then turned to look at his dad.
