"It might be attracted to a Lycan," Dr. Walahan suggested.

"Why would it leave Thea's body then? If she's a Lycan," Arthur thought aloud.

"You're a stronger Lycan. Don't move. Keep it going towards you so I can heal Thea," he commanded. Arthur stood strong, ignoring the yelling of his mother and sister from behind him. Lilia had immediately recognized what it was and was screaming at her son to get out of the way.

"Arthur?" He heard his father's voice coming from the speakers behind him.

"Trust me," Arthur yelled back. The room quieted down as the slime moved slightly faster. As it finally all left Thea's body, Dr. Walahan rushed over and began working on her. "How long do you need, Doc?"

"Thirty minutes, maybe less. I'll let you know. For now, run from it!" Arthur started a jog around the room and felt silly until he saw the slime behind him.

"How long is it going to take the blacksmith, dad?"

"An hour," he responded through the microphone. "They had one lying around but it needed repairs. How long can you run?"

"Longer than an hour," Arthur smiled tentatively. Dr. Walahan was stitching up Thea's body when both the Alphas burst into the viewing area spewing questions. They seemed to calm down as Lev explained what was going on and it wasn't until almost thirty minutes after that when the silver box was dropped off. Dr. Walahan helped Arthur contain it and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. After they both showered, they were free to go.

"Mom," Arthur fell into Lilia's arms the second he stepped out of the room. He was still slightly dizzy from running in circles and found relief in his mother's arms

"Wait," Lev trailed off, looking behind him. "Dr. Walahan! What's going on?"

"She's shifting," Dr. Walahan watched the twitching wolf in awe.

"Can we go in there?" Alpha Luke was bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"Of course, but there's always risk of—" the men burst into the operating room before Dr. Walahan could finish with, "injury." Both wolves ignored him and moved somewhere they could touch their daughter.

"Oh my goddess, I'm so glad you're alright," Lilia said as she cradled Arthur as close as she could. Kat hugged his midsection while Lev rubbed a hand on his back.

"She's almost as big as Lev," Dr. Walahan said as he entered the room once she'd fully shifted. Thea opened her eyes and panicked immediately at her size. She tried to squeeze into the corner of the room but only ended up crushing things in her path. Both her fathers tried to approach her, but she only squeezed closer to the wall.

"She's gonna crush the wall," Lev removed himself from his family and entered the room as well. Lilia released Arthur and when he turned around, his heartbeat so hard he thought it was going to fall out of his chest.

"Mate," he sighed, the Lycan inside of him puffing up in pride. His mate was a Lycan!

"But—you said she wasn't your mate," Lilia said in confusion. "Wait! Arthur!" Her son ran into the room and only stopped once he was in front of Thea.

"Back up," he warned everyone else. Arthur shifted into his Lycan and nuzzled Thea until she slowly calmed down enough to lie down. He placed himself next to her and groomed her until her heartbeat slowed.

"Dr. Walahan, Arthur just said she was his mate," Lilia whispered. The doctor cocked his head curiously at him both.

"It could have been blocking off all of her Lycan sense...with Lev, it was only a blob, and he could tell you were his mate. This is different," he said quietly.

"How are you feeling?" Arthur murmured to his mate through the mind-link. He nudged his head under her chest to check for wounds, but they had all healed. His heart was thudding in his chest, and he was praising the moon goddess while everyone else discussed the situation.

"We're mates," Thea focused on the positive and nuzzled so hard into Arthur he almost fell over.

"Told you so," he couldn't resist saying. Thea bumped him away but groomed him when he came back.

"I'm so happy," Arthur admitted. "And so confused." He tuned back into the conversation his family was having and whined when he caught onto what they were saying.

"I'll call the Council," Alpha Blaton sighed and rubbed his forehead.

"I'll start my research. Once again, I'm getting to old for this," Dr. Walahan picked up the heavy silver box and exited to his office. Lilia, Lev, and Alpha Luke stepped forward with hospital gowns and instructed the two to shift back. Thea was barely dressed when she jumped into Arthur's arms happily.

"Told you so," Arthur looked cheekily at his mother. She only rolled her eyes and gathered them into a hug.

And everything was perfect in that moment.
