"What are you doing here?" I demanded, stalling for my life. My hands trembled and my ankles buckled slightly.

He walked closer.

"Get back," I whispered as calmly as I could. Suddenly I connected the dots.

"You killed them," I sputtered. His eyes narrowed and one of his eyebrows rose. He was silent for a moment, and he started laughing. I was disgusted, and eyed the door.

"Well duh," he laughed. "Who else could have done it sweetheart?"

"Why?" I cried, biting my tongue to keep the tears from falling down. This would be the end of me, I thought, a murderer standing right there.

Suddenly I made a break for it. I ran to the door, opening it as fast as I could, not looking back. My bare feet hit the floor as the rain poured down. My hair was soaking, and I pulled open the car door. I pressed my foot on the gas, and desperately twisted the key. No, this couldn't have been happening. The asshole messed with my car.

I knew I had to get away, there was a killer inside the house. My chest rose and fell, and I thought of my family. The tears started to fall down my face, and I started running towards town.

My feat carried me and I was sprinting. The nearest town was hours away, but I had to get somewhere safe.

Terrified, I looked behind me to see where he was. But he wasn't on my tail like I expected. He was sitting in the cabin, dry, leaning against the door. He smoked a cigarette and cocked his head at me.

"Not gonna get anywhere, princess," he called out to me. My feet were suddenly moving too fast and my eyes were locked on him. I tripped, and my legs hit the ground with a thud. I looked down and noticed a red liquid pouring out of my scraped knees.

Darden opened an umbrella and walked out to me. He looked me up, down, and back up again. I knew I had to run for my life, but I was stuck in place.

"Get your ass back inside," I grumbled. He kneeled next to me and brought his lips close to my ear. My heart was beating so loud and fast, I was sure he could hear it. I listened to him breathe, and my legs felt shaky. He opened his mouth and I could feel his hot breath hitting my face.

"You're stuck with me sweetheart," he whispered softly, making me let out a small whimper. He gave me a wink, and walked back into the cabin leaving me bloody on the street.
